There was a piece on bbc news this evening about footballs fragile finances. It focused on Bolton and Bury but indicated they might only be the tip of the iceberg. The spokesman for the football league said change might have to happen to stop this happening all over the country. Change is coming

There's a lot of little shitty clubs in the north west that should merge.

Bury, Bolton, Wigan, Dale, Oldham could form a super club and get 30,000 weekly.

We should merge with Leeds and Huddersfield.

All Leeds City region aren’t we.

People should follow their local teams rather than following the likes of Man United. Then these clubs would get higher attendances.

Joking apart we can stand on our own two feet and we are a huge City. Times are shit but it can improve.

The NW is full of small town clubs that will always struggle. There's a few in the midlands too.

Well it won't come from our Premiership clubs, not sure of the criteria of the FL for the fit & proper persons test but it obviously has it's flawes.

A Utd fan from Doncaster always makes me laugh.

Or a person from Donny following Leeds.

Better still a person from Plymouth claiming to be a Bradford City fan in @Park bantam@Park bantam. Now that is gold!

Having worked in Donny up until 2 1/2 years ago, I was 'amazed' by the fact there were about 75 people there (Donny born and bred) who actually supported Leeds, and had never seen a Donny game !

Julian Rhodes saying we might be able to get one or two more signings in with the cash, and to be fair that's just about all we'll need until January, and hopefully we'll see some movement with some of the current contracted dross that Edin signed. The lions share goes to Stefan and plugging the gap. To me that sounds just about bob on. Happy days

Unfortunately greed has taken over in the premier (£85m for Maguire.....seriously??) and you only have to look at the continuous hissy fits the Toon Army have about Mike Ashley, who if you actually look at it from a business point of view runs the club extremely efficiently but he has to deal with a support base who suffer delusions of grandeur (similar to the scum east of Pudsey.

These clubs will never allow money to filter down, the top clubs would force a breakaway if it did. They are only interested in competing with the European giants and gaining more revenue from “growing markets” in Asia, so to them it doesn’t matter if the tin pot club up the road is if financial dire straights, as long as the kids in Malaysia are buying their strips.

In 20-25 years time it’ll be a closed shop, the big clubs will get their wish and we’ll end up with an American football type arrangement. For the rest of us we’ll just be competing to try and play in the championship at best knowing we’re hitting a ceiling.

Our biggest ever transfer windfall effectively gone to pay of the actions of a deranged lunatic playing with other peoples money. The fat bast@rd has gone yet still manages to kick us in the balls with his actions. Makes you feel all warm inside knowing this money is going toward the wages the crap Rahic and Abbott brought to the club last season .

Makes sense for any incoming money to bridge the Rahic debarcle and go back to the owner, Julians playing a very straight bat, we have covered our losses so little money to pay in possible future transfer deals selling club be aware.
