Cheers for the heads up @Bronco, was there that day, indeed what a game. Gutted to lose it.

 

Few things to take from today:

Despite playing ok, I don't think we'll be playing the diamond very often. Doyle worked very hard but lacks the technical ability to play number 10. Also the lack of width doesn't really play to Vaughan's and Donaldson's strengths.

Gibson again was impressive with and without the ball. Won the ball back numerous times and created a really good chance for Vaughan.

Palmer is class, calm on the ball and some excellent passing. Get that DM next to him and he'll be even better.

 

No @Rocket talked me out of it, I stayed home and watched/watching the Rugby.

It sounds like Gibson has put in some decent performances in our friendlies so far, he deserves a start against Cambridge IMO. I suspect we'll bring in midfield reinforcements over the next couple of weeks but I see no harm in giving Gibson a try in the meantime, he's at the age where he could conceivably be improving in a short space of time.

 

With respect, how do you know that? Did you go today and see that he played poorly behind Vaughan and Donaldson?

I wasn’t commenting about today but in general Doyle is a penalty box poacher and in my opinion that is where he should play

 

Anyone from on here recognise themselves? Looks like a decent turnout compared with what Wigan brought to VP.
