I doubt Bowyer needs another friendly to know we are still weak in midfield Ronnie. I guess he is playing a waiting game. Either someone exits the club or more likely, waiting for McBurnie transfer to go through. I think the Premiership window closes a week on Friday too

 

Wonder if Carts #CTID has been to see his barber recently and if so, if there's any update on Riley's move to Rochdale. I guess what I'm wanting to know is, are we leaving him there this afternoon or bringing him back?

Might be a good move Broncs. Dale called off their game with Blackburn to protect the pitch two weeks ago when it was dry.
At the moment there is nothing to say it's of and I'm leaving in the next hour. Believe team doing normal pre match of meal then travel and weather in Dale forecast to clear a bit so good idea to keep across the two clubs websites

 

Sorry, but I disagree. Any other friendly and I’d agree fitness is priority, but 7 days until KO, the performance matters more. The players should be match-fit by now so it’s all about how the are performing, which combinations work best and which formation suits the players we have.

I expect a good, strong performance and this will give us an idea of where we are. The result isn’t as important, but the performance is.

I don’t like the look of this side. If Bowyer is going to insist on 4-3-3 this season, we will struggle and it begs the question around his transfers. Not convinced Donaldson, Vaughan and Doyle are good enough to play those roles. And we definitely don’t have a strong enough midfield 3.

Sorry to go against all the positivity, but I’m starting to worry about this coming season. I can see a long, frustrating season and a mid-table finish

I see Ismail is missing again also. The season hasn’t even started and we have 3-4 players missing.

 

I was hoping, after the Wigan performance, that Bowyer would go with 4-4-2 and only use 4-3-3 as a back up. Playing Doyle out wide instead of Scannell is just bonkers

 

Expect a game of 2 x 45 min formations looking at the line up.
Scannell to come on at half time to replace doyle.
