What are you playing?

Did Anyone play them "play by mail games" back in the day? Get a letter every fortnight with your team details and previous results, transfer lists etc. You''d then pick your squad, make bids and such then return and wait a fortnight for the scores etc

Cant believe they are still going in this "day and age".. Very good fun, i remember being at school waiting to dash home for the latest pack.. Not 100% but I'm sure I did a rugby one too.

 

There was a Rugby one, also to slightly digress, in olden days we had a local Subbuteo league, hosted at the Methodist church hall, six pitches, and in summer a cricket series based on the board game Stumptz, even kept proper scorebooks!

Started playing Pokemon cards with my daughter. It is great.

So good to do something that doesn't require a screen.

 

Bored of the xbox at the minute. Only really play FIFA now and again. Hoping the new Call of Duty is decent. I am sure it will cost silly money mind you.

 

Pre-ordered the new Call of Duty. Will let you know how it goes over the weekend. Excited for this one.

 

Fantastic game. I'm a competitive gamer so it's a big one for me. Just wish there was more maps but I'm sure there'll be an update with extra maps and bleed a few more quid out of us. First impressions good so far.

 

Agreed. Interesting you say that about the maps... I was using the filter and only really play a couple of the game modes (I'm crap so games with a respawn time aren't really my thing, although I do like headquarters)... I always thought there was a lack of maps do to the game modes I played.

Have you tried the story mode yet? Fairly incredible stuff. Haven't even been tempted to buy FIFA yet.

 

Currently leading Cowdenbeath from Scottish 3rd division obscurity to domestic and European glory on the King of all FM games CM97/98. One Rob Steiner is very hot property but I can't get him to sign. Graham Tomlinson on the other hand was a very astute signing and bagged 30 plus goals per season before Celtic came in and nabbed him for a fair few million!

 

Don't get FIFA it's horrendous this year. Just doesn't seem to flow. Free Kicks and Penalties are impossible. I'm in Div 1 in Online seasons so I'm good enough at it's not about losing like normal but it's just not very enjoyable to play. I'll keep it for when my pals visit but won't be playing much myself.

 

Just finished the new Cod campaign, enjoyed it they got more like movies every year. Only the 3rd Cod campaign I’ve finished as I usually just do multiplayer, the other two been Cod 4 and Black ops 2 or 3 which had Kevin Spacey in.

Enjoying multiplayer so far, don’t get to play as much as I used to due to life getting in the way but it’s a lot better than other recent cods(except) Blackout on the last one. Cod 4 will always be unbeatable imo though, crazy thinking back just how much time I spent on that game!

Agree with Granby about the new FIFA, I’ve played for games on Ultimate team and I’m wondering why I bothered. I’d not played since FIFA 16 or 17 and now I know why!

Still waiting for them to announce the next GTA but I’m guessing that’ll be next gen.
