Imagine that was the case his kids calling him winner, shocking, but imagine him quoting that to a reporter, what a plonker as Del would say :D.

He didn't. He told this tale to his new players at Preston. It is quoted in Clarke Carlisle's autobiography. Carlisle said he knew at that point he couldn't play for Westley.

Suspect Rosler will get it but would be happy with a young up and coming or untried player manager. please God not Brown or McCarthy

I’d have Hill or Bellamy. Both realistic options and I would fully support either.

Cheers, I knew he'd quoted it but thought it was during an interview, how did the players keep from bursting into laughter, footballers aren't renowned for being wallflowers.

Not sure of Brown working under Edin & Stefan but couldn't see big Mick taking any shit, and would they understand him ?.

I get you mean. We always have a set opinion where we think we know :)

I remember been delighted to get Taylor, simply because he got clubs promoted even though they played rubbish. That worked out well

But I was actually never a fan of Robson - never rated him as a Manger. Incapable of changing a game as illustrated by I think it was our 21 one goal defeats when we went down

Haven't we said the same about Rosler for the last two closed seasons?

Plenty fail at Barnsley. Given their time in the Championship and hence resources over the years, they should surely have done what Town or even Burnley have - but constantly struggle due to an over-thinking and interfering approach

I don't really see what they've done that's so radical. They've basically copied the Steve Evans approach he had at Crawley

What's so progressive about them, that means you have to be have ambition to for them to come?

I'd pick Paul Tisdale or Gareth Ainsworh or Flynn in a heartbeat before them - simply because they've stared disaster in the face and come through it

Would be happy with either Hill or Rosler given the shit season we’ve ended up with. Would be totally uninspired by any of the other bookies contenders.

Can't see any reasonably established manager working under our "model". It will be an untried who needs a first step onto the managerial ladder who gets the gig IMO.

With a limited budget and our current club management setup and the likelihood of a newbie being appointed, our luck is really going to have to hold to make any sort of a fist of next season.

Relying on luck isn't much of a strategy but it may be the only thing we have.
