I would expect Simon Grayson, and Stephen Warnock (and others footballers of the past that have commented on how poorly run we are - Chris Mitchell and Tommy Docherty amongst others) would know what to expect of a professional football club. what we are offering doesn't, it's more akin to Park Avenue's level and that frankly isn't good enough, for League 1 or 2.

Do Woodhouse Grove play football, I know they have a good Rugby Union team/teams but never heard of them having a football team.

Yes, they've recently started football training and think they may have a couple of teams now but its still mainly rugby/cricket/netball

Thanks Roger, glad I was wrong. Very disappointed in Stephen and why he felt the need to exaggerate like that.

Breaking down what has been said:-

    • The training ground is shared with a school, you’re sharing facilities with the school, you can’t go in the gym when they need it. The training ground is a school pitch, if they want it, then they use it.”
I guess that schools invariably have a timetable and that is set out for the academic year. So if City are provided with a copy, they can factor in training which ‘dovetails’ with the school. Again I was under the impression that the club had the exclusive use of a pitch during the week.
    • “These are little things that managers have to juggle with all the time, the players don’t know where they’re going to be training from one day to the next, or whether they’re going to be able to use the facilities that they need to use.”
Surely that is poor communication on the part of the football management team, or the school if they fail to provide details. I would assume that the Club too would have some form of timetable, which the players were provided with. So presuming players can read, then they like the children can work out where they have to be at a certain time.
    • “Often, you’re eating school dinners as well. This is meant to be a professional outfit, but it’s not good enough for that level, or for a club of that size."
Unless there is something intrinsically wrong with the food, then I struggle to see the issue. This is a fee paying school. The cost is: £ 4,440 (Day); £ 8,720 (Weekly Boarding); £ 9,300 (Full Boarding). So serious money. I guess you would want your children to eat well, if you were paying that amount! Those of us who work, have to provide our own meals, l have often either taken food into work, or get a sandwich. Footballers are on serious money, they could order ‘bespoke’ food to be delivered to the training ground.
Yes it would be ideal to have a state of the art training arena, with multiple gym’s, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, swimming pool, weights room, physiotherapist suite, podiatrist, managers office, assistant managers office, meeting rooms, cinema, changing rooms for the 1st team and a separate one for the U23’s, snooker room, designated jumbo parking spaces for the players cars, car wash team, meditation room, table tennis, free super fast Wi-Fi, shuttle service to the airport/train station, helicopter pad, bar, entertainment rooms, etc.

This is not going to happen.

Even a more modest set up, where you were your own boss would be preferable, but the facilities are hardly kicking the ball about on the local rec!

It would be good to have an honest question and answer session with Steven Warnock.

EXCLUSIVE: STEPHEN WARNOCK OFFERS EXTRAORDINARY INSIGHT INTO LIFE AT BRADFORD CITY

It has been a bitterly disappointing campaign for all concerned with Bradford City, culminating in relegation to League Two after a dismal season both on and off the pitch.
The Bantams are a club steeped in history and tradition, with a huge fanbase entering the turnstiles week in, week out at Valley Parade.
They are a club that have been there or thereabouts in the race for promotion over the last few years, but since the small matter of a famous 4-2 FA Cup win against Chelsea four years ago, the Bantams have gone through five different permanent managers, with general inconsistencies running right through the club.
And now, after what has been a wild season for the club both on and off the pitch, the Bantams find themselves already relegated in League One, with two games still left to play this term.
Their season has been dominated by turbulent ownership problems, with chairman and chief executive Edin Rahic leaving the club in December after coming under major scrutiny by fans.

One man who will know all about the club’s troubles is EFL on Quest pundit Stephen Warnock – the 37-year old signed for City on loan from Burton Albion last season, in a campaign which they finished in 11th place, and a season that was ultimately the beginning of their downward spiral.
We spoke to him exclusively regarding his brief spell with the club, and he said: “The big thing, for me, when I went into the club, was that it is not run properly.”

“The training ground is shared with a school, you’re sharing facilities with the school, you can’t go in the gym when they need it. The training ground is a school pitch, if they want it, then they use it.”

“These are little things that managers have to juggle with all the time, the players don’t know where they’re going to be training from one day to the next, or whether they’re going to be able to use the facilities that they need to use.”

“Often, you’re eating school dinners as well. This is meant to be a professional outfit, but it’s not good enough for that level, or for a club of that size.”
