I think it has improved in recent years. City fans have to work at it though! North Parade is good, you actually need to park in the Broadway, or catch a bus. This is fine at the start of the season as it is summer, and it is still light. I am less likely to go there as it gets darker.

I often wonder how many ppl go to watch of the local population. The majority of fans I suspect come from outside of the city centre. If we could extend what North Parade have done further along Manningham Lane, that would great.

I think the club lacks a good social club where fans can meet pre and post match like the one at Rochdale

I agree to certain extent, it does need further development, and to continue to extend it further up Manningham Lane, more drinking and eating places, live bands on match days etc.

The Saddlers club at Walsall is good for this, especially since there aren’t many pubs within walking distance.

The club tried this at our height in the PL with Campbell’s bar and it didn’t work then. It is hard to run one on just 23 match day income. They already have the Suites to rent out so there would be little extra income from renting it out.

And still lost money. That is the point, it couldn't survive on just 2 hours of busy trade 23 days a year

    There's surely a middle way

We certainly don't need 42 players. You could still have an eye on development with 30 to 35. Crucially, that leaves money for potential high earbers

One thing is for sure, we are going to have to be creative with the funds available. The loan market has to be utilised well, if we can bring in 3 or 4 real game changing players we have a good chance. Theres a nucleus of a team here, but no standout players that will change draws into wins or losses into draws. Be interesting to see Abbotts list and what markets he was targeting.

    We'll see how it goes.

Last Summer we failed to pay the going rate for pros like McArdle or even loans like Hiwula. We wanted cheap, we got cheap. The results reflect this, as does the league table.

If we are going to scratch around in the loan market for the cheaper options, we might get lucky with a Callum Guy; players like Warnock and Lund will not be available in the Summer, experience tends to come in January when squads are deeper and teams more settled. Realistically, though, the loan market could prove no cheaper than free transfers IF we want the higher end of the market.

You're right in that we'll have to be creative; McGowan is about as creative a signing is it can get, and if he can pick up where he left off, we've got a cracking defender, which we sorely lacked throughout the vast majority of this season. Maybe McGowan is good enough to compensate for Killa, and the two can have an effective pairing, improving on the shocking defensive statistics of this season.

I think a lot will depend on shifting the dead wood in which a considerable amount of money has been tied.

Dom Poleon is contracted to next season. McCartan is contracted to the next TWO seasons. Patrick is contracted to the next TWO seasons. NKP and Kilgallon are also contracted for next season. Could we have had a cheaper back up had we considered how we dish out contracts?

That's five players, and I'd be disappointed if more than two of them were starting the first game next season.

    Not good.

Vincelot too. You would imagine he is a better earner. If we can't offload him, what do you do with him?

Former Captain who can't get in the team, could be a bad apple.

He can't play centre back as too small and he can't do a job in midfield because he can't run.

I think he might come good next season, but shouldn't be a guaranteed starter.

I really felt we ran him into the ground, and in mid-January him and Reeves were looking ragged.

With better squad rotation, hopefully he'll stay the course next time.

I do think too much was asked of certain players this season in terms of game time - not that they shouldn't be fit and up for it, but when they needed resting they couldn't be rested.

Well if it was true that there was a fair bit of interest in McCartan in January maybe some of that interest will still be there, you never know.

So don’t open it on non match days and it doesn’t cost apart from rates and a few fridges.

They didn’t. It only opened on match days but the overheads of the building made it unprofitable.

You wouldn’t own a building, or rent it, just to use it for 46 hours a week.

I heard that too, but I wonder what the level interest was - was it a loan? £25k? £50k? Or was there a chance of making our transfer fee back?

I don't actually think Shay is a bad player, and if our budget is going to be quite low, perhaps he will have a good deal of responsibility. I just struggle to see him fitting into a Grayson team, or any manager who likes a 4-4-2 really, and certainly don't see him having anything like a £250,000 valuation.

I'm just not sure where that figure ever came from.

If Grayson stays I don't think we'll be playing much 442. He favours the 433 or 532, both systems you could see McCarten fitting into. He played fairly well yesterday and scored 2 in 2 over new year so may just need a run in the side

I have it on good authority if we had signed Dennis on deadline day McCarten was going to Notts county on Loan. And Jorge Grant who is on loan at county from Forest was coming our way. How that would have worked I don’t know but I think it’s true
