    I like the look of those three, for every positive thing a manager out of work has there is also a negative.

    The point you made is that appointing an experienced manager should be the preferred option.
    My point is Peter Taylor fits that criteria yet he was very poor for us, as was Lennie Lawrence, Peter Jackson and Bryan Robson.
    The only managers ever to succeed here are rookies (Cherry, Dolan, Kamara, Jewell) and PP.
    I rest my case

    Actually in last hour Nolan has drifted slightly and Bowyer back to odds on, as he was evens earlier this afternoon.

    Still think it will be Bowyer, announced beginning of the working week

    I get where you are coming from Dave. To be fair you have backed it up with evidence. However the last time Taylor got over 40% was in 2009, which was the last time he got a team promoted. Since the it has been a downward spiral.

    So l guess if we were to get a ‘successful’ manager, there is absolutely no guarantee that they will repeat that with us.

    How many managers, who are available, have two previous promotions?

    I anticipate that the chances of a manger getting a third promotion is fairly low?

    I suggest three, as having two previous successes indicate that they are established operators.
