50 applicants apparently. That's not a bad amount, considering all the bad press we've had this season. However, doesn't say the quality of those fifty. Robbie Blake for example. Brilliant as a player, but I am not sure he's the right man in this situation for us. BUT - are we appointing someone to keep us up, or someone who can lead us to promotion next season if we go down? I think anyone in their right mind, will sign, as did Grayson, until the end of the season and keep their options open.

Can't see Parkinson coming back. As people have stated, he's shown he can handle the Championship, despite having a load of trauma behind the scenes.

It would be great, for a very experienced manager to come in for these last 12 games and have a real go at getting the players motivated, and playing the right tactics and formation to get us winning again.

It's interesting that there are no German candidates on the bookies list like there was last time. The controlling owner of BCFC is still German - like last time. Maybe this is a chance for Rupp to show he wants to get involved, and brings in some of his contacts from his homeland.

Indeed. And from those 50 .......... I expect (hope) those connected with City, and DO know football, have already condensed that down to 10 potential candidates, even at this stage.

 

It's one of the reasons why Rhodes and the board needs backbone with their decision.

This club will go under if it wants to play nice. It's not a nice world and it's getting tougher. Now is not the time to take the easy route.

And it has no bearing on him being successful a second time round. Its like the clamour on social media to bring in the likes of Gary Jones or Jamie Lawrence in some capacity when a manager gets the sack. “ Give em a kick up the backside, they won’t stand no messing”. Yeah right cos thats guaranteed to work. There is no reason to bring Parkinson back, he’s done his stint and had success. Lets find the next Phil Parkinson and build the next new era. Honestly, some of our fans are obsessed with looking back.

 

I'd suggest it's because we know what he can do with a squad of players.
He knows the club and its past, he was very much a part of our recent good times,
He wont use excusess that the training facilities are crap.
But most of all we fans know what he can offer to our club, whether he could reproduce it again is another matter, He set down a marker and I would think he would like to better it if offered the chance.
