Smoke Bombs - Who in their right minds would glorify this?

This sort of thing happens on the way to and at our away games every other week. it';s not new, it's just not always posted publicly afterwards for people to get outraged at.

 

Indeed & didn't one of them want to give the pyro culprits a "slap"? You couldn't make it up.

And can we stop this "fire" faux outrage, it's such bullshit, it's a wonder some don't want the 5 and 6 shirts retiring to protect them from possible flash backs.

 

Completely agree, especially the bottom part. Really pisses me off when people start comparing a ‘smoke bomb’ to the Valley Parade fire. Complete overreaction.

 

Because its always some sort of moral points scoring. Letting off a smoke bomb should not be mentioned in the same breath as a tragedy where countless lives were lost. I’m no big fan of this obsession with football and smoke bombs but i would never use the fire to justify why i think its wrong.

 

Must be a lot of folk that never did anything a bit stupid when they were young.

 

Smoke bombs are one of them weird things in life where some people derive some form of pleasure from, presumably, causing a scene and getting noticed.

Beyond that, I have no absolutely no idea what is entertaining about smoke.

They should invent paint bombs, bet some would delight in watching them dry.

I’m not condoning it Keefly, but also I’m not going to lose too much sleep over it. If i’d been there i’d probably found it irritating, but not much more. There will always be a few ‘younger fans’ doing stupid stuff to try and look good, as I say, we’ve all probably done daft things in our past, maybe not the same setting/context. If you haven’t then congratulations. Did they smash the pub up and chuck furniture about?

Thankfully it doesn't seem to have caused distress to anyone but not the respect that should be shown to other people's property Catching them and making them fund and complete the re decorating would be a step in the right direction

As I say, it’s a stupid and inconsiderate thing to do, if there’s damage I agree. Same as I don’t condone the minority of fans that smashed up pubs in the 70/80/90s etc. There will always be fans that do stupid things, maybe they’ll look back in yrs to come wondering why the fck they did it? Maybe they won’t. In the end, they did it to look good/doing something controversial at football and in the main it’s probably achieved them neither.

 

Wonder if it was the same idiots at today's match?! One thing setting one off in our stand, but then throwing one into the home fans in the second half. I was sat at the half way mark but looked to be some right idiots at the far end of the stand. Hopefully the Rochdale fans don't tar us all with the same brush.

 

Bloody idiots today throwing flares at Rochdale fans I really hope they are caught and banned. Rochdale were no better throwing bottles and even a tyre at city fans.

 

Same idiots were walking down the main road after the game banging on the windows of cars sat in traffic. Must be scary for car occupants to have their vehicle attacked in such a way. Pathetic in their baseball caps.

 

Like relocate a few hundred miles away from VP, for instance!
