Can I ask what he did you make you think he attacks well?

I thought he was terrible going forward, never took on the fullback and so reluctant to cross he ended up going backwards 90% of the time.

 

I am wondering if financial fair play rules mean we will have to offload some players in January before bringing more in. Could be why White hasn't yet signed? I think we should move some on in any case, either by selling or loan as we have a large squad, a number of whom aren't good enough or not playing for various reasons.

 

Chicksen has been left exposed down that left side and left in 2 minds with what to do. I saw him regularly in the last 30mins against peterborough be left in a 2 on 1 situation. Only when LOB tracked his man was Chicksen then able to prevent the cross coming in.

Same happened to Cadis on the right in both the past 2 games. We have LOB, Ball and Payne who every now and then have a lack of urgency to track or get back. It leaves us exposed but we are improving.

Give the lad a break he just needs some more confidence. Hes not Mezza and never will be, but no other teams have a Mezza either.

 

I agree I have watched the match again this afternoon and Chicksen did OK. He is the scapegoat of the team

 

I think you’re being a bit generous. He has been the worst defender in the last few games (and that’s quite an achievement). Against Walsall he repeatedly let crosses into the box. I don’t remember him winning a single 1 v 1, each time the winger faced him up the ball was crossed into our box and on a different day could have cost a goal. Compare that to Caddis who seems to block/stop at least some of the attempted crosses.

Added to that, his distribution seems to have gotten worse. He initially seemed to have a decent cross but even his passing/crossing seems to have gone out the window now. Can’t really understand why Wood isn’t getting a game.

 

You must be watching a different game to me if you are saying LO’B Ball and Payne don’t track back because that is wrong. I watched L’OB chase the keeper down after nearly 120 minutes on Tuesday night and Payne never stopped yesterday. I don’t want to get on Chicksens back but he needs to up his game, especially when Wood was showing signs of good form. Chicksen is the only player who hasn’t played well in the last two games, time Wood got his chance.

 

Don’t talk rubbish man. He isn’t playing well and we have another left back who was doing alright. Wood deserves his chance, all the players need to be pulling their weight if we are to escape relegation, we can’t afford passengers.

 

I have no doubt what's so ever January will see our books become lighter assuming we can find homes for our resident sicknotes.

On a number of occasions he took the ball forward down the wing, that took defenders away from our attacking players and gaps opened up. He needs to work on his crosses I will give you that, but he tries to give it to one of our forward players rather than cross it into the box. He nearly scored on one occasion, I think it hit the under bar and came out. I am not saying he doesn’t need to work on all aspects of his game and more especially his defending, but I don’t see the point of just rubbishing e every aspect of his game. I think he plays much better in a 442 formation where he has winger to help out. Clearly DH is playing him for a reason.

 

And some of their fans are giving him stick of late they don't think he is championship material.

 

I was sat in the far right block as you look at the pitch on tuesday and he simply had no cover. We arent playing 4-4-2, so the midfielders need to track their man more. He was exposed, no doubt about it. He has no confidence also which is an issue but you cant expect any defender to deal with one two football. It was 2 on 1 FFS

 

He struggles with 1 on 1 never mind 2 on 1. Get Wood in.

 

Gets a lot of stick on here, think he deserves a bit of praise after a good performance yesterday, and part of the defence that has kept 2 consecutive clean sheets now.

Had a very good game yesterday hope he keeps those sort of performances up.

 

He was a steady 6/10 yesterday. That’s about as good as it gets for him. He’s not a patch on Caddis.

 

Completely bottled a challenge in the first half as usual. We were probably lucky their right winger was shite, which made Chicksen look competent.
