Certainly not, remember Dowson, Dow, Marcel Siep, Holloway and that's just without delving deep. Chicksen is nowhere near the worst.

He was a centre half playing full back and did a job. Didn’t let anyone down.

Agree. Can’t work out why he’s getting in ahead of Wood.

 

God awful player. I get Hopkin prefers experience at this point but Wood is so far ahead of Chicksen it's criminal he isn't being picked.

 

He had a fairly decent game against oxford but is not good enough. Another of the Abbott/Rahic signings. Get rid.

 

Wood was starting to play really well then got dropped for chicksen who is a awful defender

 

Definitely not Daren Morgan and Allan Dowson were tonnes worse

 

It's harsh on Chicksen calling him the worst defender of all time.

 

who is chickson? if you mean adam chicksen, then he's not the worst - by far not the worst. often ends up defending in 2 vs 1 situations due to the structure and setup of the side; we're currently playing without wingers, full-backs often look much better when they've a winger to (a) either back them up, drop deep and track the opposition full-back so it's 2 vs 2 and (b) when they've a winger who they can develop a decent relationship with and when attacking the winger plays inside the touchline about 15-20 yards giving the full-back plenty of space to overlap and push forward into.

 

Wouldn't say he's the worst but he is certainly up there.

Whereas Charlton held open the Exit door for Chicksen .......... Says it all, really.

 

Completely disagree -we put up no discernible fight to keep McArdle and Meredith was off unless we got promoted.

 

Interesting that Mezza’s name has cropped up in the thread. To me Chicksen was the first visible sign of the mess Edin was driving towards. I.E he was visibly inferior to the player he was brought into replace. However he’s no way the worst full back we’ve ever had,he’s not even the worst full back in the current squad.
He doesn’t deserve half the abuse he gets he’s just not as good as Mezza.
