Arsenal at home in the cup- extra time and penalties! My 5 year old daughter, whose prescence was forgotten by the 80th minute, was dressed in about 7 layers but still frozen to the bone. I noticed her at full time crying her heart out quietly as she didn’t want to disturb me. Felt rotten so carried her back to the car, turned off the radio rang my wife to warn her not to say a word about the result, turned off the phone and drove at breakneck speed home to watch the extra time and penalties as live.

Boro away first game in Prem. Remember Shaun bloody Harvey telling me there was no way City could tell who had season tickets for seasons before promotion, so it was a free for all for anyone with ticket for that season. Just kicked the cat thinking about it again....not bitter or anything. (Glad he’s been shown to *@?$ up the EFL TV deal....I know, stop it, move on)...

The first Man Utd away game was like that too. I missed out in the draw, i was fuming considering all shithole grounds i’d endured prior to our shot at the big time. I managed to see us at Old Trafford the second season in the prem though. Boro was superb ;)

Yes, I saw Bronco at the game, he looked a right whipper snapper in his short pants and cloth cap! Giving Newcastle fans grief when Spiers scored!

We had a lovely state room with balcony, total luxury. We sailed all the way to Australia then stayed with rellies for a couple of weeks. The best holiday ever.

Can’t remember the gorgeous little island we stopped but it was the next day, and the other half walked in the shop where they were selling Chelsea shirts, and was having great banter, saying you will never sell these now, plus where are your city shirts lol. The funny thing was all the lads in the shop knew about it, and was asking about the team etc., On board ship they release a ships newspaper and it was the headline news for the day.

Try 6 hours in the snow, 4 people in front of the ticket office window ahead of me and then told sold out.....cold hungry livid.....but got a phone call on Monday at work and said some player returns, still interested.....no, of course not so managed to get some....rest is history...

Probably for me would be Wolves 99, promotion to PL. Can't think why either.....maybe due to eldest being only 3 months but actually spent afternoon watching game with 5 mates at friend's house and then into Bradford for beer and seeing Stuart fall off the car!! Not getting home till late so essentially might have well gone to Wolves anyway!!!

I missed the Liverpool 'survival' game due to having recently being discharged from hospital and being bed ridden. Someone up there doesn't like me.

It's probably the reason why I've been such a miserable c**t for the last 18 years. Although, I've been married for 16, so.... take your pick.

Since I was young at the time, it was the first proper brawling I’d seen at a game. Remember afterwards been charged at and my friend and I having it jump into some old dears garden and hide in a hedge.

    Great day!

I missed the Wolves away game, having gone to the vast majority of games that season. I hadn’t realised when the tickets would go on sale and by the time I found out they’d sold out.

Kicked myself for that - took to watching the game in the Golden Lion in Pudsey and celebrating in a heap with two City-supporting mates at the final whistle with a load of Leeds-supporting regulars around us looking very bemused!

Missed the Bristol City League Cup QF because of a bloody school concert. Was gutted when I saw the result anyway but was even more annoyed I couldn’t go!

I remember the Wolves game. We were on a camping Hol in Cornwal and my dad told my mum we were popping out for abit. Drove to Birmingham watched the game and got back about midnight to a slightly pissed off mum haha
    What a game though.
The only game I am gutted to of missed is the 96 playoff final.
I was 11 and I never got to see City play at the twin towers.
Been to every Wembley trip since mind lol

I think I would of cried.
I remember queing it was absolutely freezing.
We were very near the front waiting through the night in the snow but it was all worth it.
It was the best game I have ever been too.
    Sorry you missed it mate.

Ah I missed that game off the couple I mentioned earlier.

Would have loved to have been at that one - I saw the home leg on the Sunday, went back to Uni same day to have the piss mercilessly ripped out of me by my housemates who all supported other clubs.

Couldn’t go to the 2nd leg as I had an exam - so had to listen on the radio.

My room was at the top of the house, when the final whistle went my housemates told me later they could hear me thundering down two flights of stairs, just looked at each other and went “oh shit” just before I arrived in the lounge to give it them back in spades!!

Sounds very similar to my journey away from boothferry park with my old man! It was decidedly dodgy after the game, when those hull fans ran across the pitch towards the city fans, fair play to those that went towards them. Still can’t believe some bright spark thought it was a good idea giving us their home end. Always going to end well that.
