    And I would suggest Rhodes was largely respected by the fans, but "loved" ??

    It might explain why the players performed a bit better on Saturday. But is it just a sticking plaster to try get us through to the FA Cup 3rd round and a payday that might sustain the Edin Poorject a bit longer and maybe even get us a decent striker and centre back/right back on half season loans. I don't see what's in it for Rhodes - share options that crystallise if we stay up, perhaps?

    I have the utmost respect for JR, if for whatever reason we still end up in league 2, it will not be down to him, we are just too far in the mire to recover. If anybody can do he can! As he says in his statement we have been through worse times and survived. He gets the glory if we make it, and no blame if we don’t in my view.

    I think it's a sign that Rupp realises he needs to change his softly softly approach in terms is spending, which I admit I had no issue with

    He's clearly spooked about the thought of us in L2 and hence will spend if need be. Personally, I think we'll survive if we average the usual no more than a quarter of a squad unavailable rather than the half it's been.

    He could easily have blamed Rahic, said there is no more money and shrugged his shouders. That would be a disaster as we must make him money in the long term. Even two seasons in L2 prevents that

    I agree, feel it is a statement from ER but in all honesty, I'd imagine that ER is still hands on at the club. Thus, I'm not personally reading anything into this statement.

    I don't share your respect for JR. I recall only too well how he was willing to join with BFG in taking their share of a nearly £8mill dividend manufactured from City when the club was loss making. The timing of that helped to precipitate Admin1. I also recall that when he and Gibb were the joint owners and there were still commitments to a couple of banks left over from Admin 1, it was JR who failed to make one of the payments to the Clydesdale Bank which automatically pushed the club into Admin 2. He has a lot to answer for imo.

    Excellent news. Welcome back Julian, you have been greatly missed

    I personally think this is the first step toward the end of Rahic's time here. I cannot imagine Rahic wanting to take a step that far back, whereby Rhodes runs the business side, and Hopkin has full reins of the footballing side.

    I hope this is also the first step for getting the missing fans back on board, and also the long road back to recovery
