All I remember mr Lawn saying is won't sell the club to anyone, only sell to whoever we think can take us to the next level. Mind you I can't remember which level he meant.

I will respond one last time to you and if you keep being a troll I will be reporting you for a ban. And I’m not doing it in PM so you can then later throw it in my face as a way of saying 'hey I’m right because he didn’t reply’ like you did here becauee I choose to remove myself from reposnding to you trolling.

The discussion was about needing an investor who was willing to put in money and keep pumping in money WITH NO RETURN until the club was in a position where it was self sustaining, like Man City’s owners for example. This isn’t what lawn did. Lawn was opertunitic, the club needed some money and he was able to not only basically guarantee he would get his money back (as it was a secured loan) but was getting 9% above the base rate meaning he was making nearly £100k a year even when the club was losing money (and that’s when the interest rate was really low at 0.5%, imagine it had gone up to say 5%). All you did was bang on about how Lawn was being someone who was the exact kind of owner the discussion was about. And when you brought in 'evidende' it was evidence that actually proved what I was saying was right not what you were saying but you kept insisting it showed what you were saying.

Lawns money may have given the club a boost but he did it because he is a businessman first and it guaranteed him a good return. If you had this weird obsession with Rhodes instead I would understand you point (even though he isn't that kind of owner either) as he took a real risk by doing things like remortgaging his home and didn’t have a guaranteed yearly return on his investment beyond his 'Salary' (which Lawn would have also been getting as a director on top of his interest payments)

Let’s not forget Mark Lawn didn’t draw a wage when he first invested. A return on his investment relied solely on the club being successful.

They could only get out if a buyer was available we fans knew for a while they were happy to sell the club.

    I don't believe Lawn & Rhodes took a salary.

Others will know more than me.

I would be surprised if they weren’t taking atleast a directors fee which is why I put salary inside ‘’. It’s not uncommon for them not to take an official salary for any work they did for the club but still get payment for being a director

No it didn’t. His loan was secured and he got his 9% above base rate even when the club made a loss.

Got any evidence of that? Rhodes espeicially that seems strange as he risked a significant amount on what the filings to hmrc suggest was an unsecured investment and which involved putting up a significant amount of his wealth as collateral

Not meaning to be rude mate, but can you just stick to what you’re good at in future. Things like managing the hosting of this site and setting up the weekly prediction league.

Everything else is pure conjecture on your part and is adding NOTHING to the debate other than unnecessary arguments....!

Let's not forget that the Rhodes family took jointly with Ricmond over £8 million in dividends, which riddled the club with debt for years to come. Rhodes was there when the club went into a second administration after taking these dividends,
The Rhodes family were there , when the club sold its only viable asset (The ground) to a fellow board member, which benefited said Board member's interests
The Rhodes family we there when Lawn injected the money and took 9% above base rate.
Never understand why he Rhodes family get a seemingly free ride .
Lawn was a gob shite (Still is) but never took as much out of Bradford city as other have in our recent history

It was as low a risk as is possible. When he loaned the club the £1mill, not only did he receive the 9.5% intrerest on the loan, he also put a charge on the assets and all of revenue streams of the club for the duration of the loan. He had first dibs if anything ever went wrong was therefore guaranteed to be repaid his loan irrespective of how the club fared.

And if the club had gone tits up he would have lost the lot. It was a massive gamble, one that nobody else was willing to take.

You got any evidence to suggest they did take a Director’s fee?

Both openly stated they did it for the love of the club and weren’t getting anything financial in return. I also believe the accounts were open and could be viewed from Companies House. This confirmed the loan repayments but nothing about any ‘Director’ fees being paid.

I have still not seen anything to back up your claim that his loan was secured against the club. The link you posted wouldn’t work for me. But we had zero assets so what exactly was it secured against?

He's just putting his opinion across, nothing wrong with that. Some of what he says makes sense. To say his opinion adds nothing is wrong.

Didn’t know that, would he have been first in line if the club had gone into administration then?
