Wonder what are the odds on one of them getting double figures - maybe both? Wouldn't be surprised to see all records broken this season including the 9-1 against Colchester

Maybe it wouldn't hurt to try a bit of reverse psychology with the players. Tell them that everyone knows they are not good enough to get a result against Pompey or the Posh so the next 2 games have already been written off.

Seriously, that's actually a pretty good idea. Just tell the league that all our players have got severe man flu.

As @Bantamsteve says, the general rule has been if a result looks too certain, bet against it. We've ended some right streaks historically, and won games we had no right to.

Getting a point against Portsmouth would be immense, and given that the performance would need to be top-end also, it could easily spark the season into life.

But then, we don't have any of that resilience of past seasons; no strong characters, no leaders; or at least none have made themselves known to City fans.

I hope you're right, because we CAN play football at times - but we fold like a 2-7 off suit under pressure.

We have to just hope the Sunderland defeat was an indication we could possibly get a point from these games, and if we can, we need to build from there.

The point about playing 11 at the back ! ? Not as daft as it sounds ? At least it would be a "plan of sorts" whereas Hopkin has failed to develop a plan in any of the games. Ask the players to simply defend the 18 yard area and just boot it out when it comes at us. Two banks of five no space between the lines. It was my preferred approach to the League Cup Final v Swansea where we decided to try and play football and got mullered for our naivety. I blamed Parky at the time...God knows I wish Parky was here now !

 

Not a hope in hell’s chance of anything from next week’s game on the back of this horrific run we’re on.

A win at Aldershot and it could get some momentum going, however.

 

We are getting nothing from these games, this week we've played Rochdale (H), Coventry (H) and Gills (A), we've lost all 3 and shipped 10 goals! Now we are playing promotion chasers, if we could forfeit both games 0-3 that would be a positive result.
