Hang on a minute @simons (woking bantam) he might be getting different info to the plan he signed up to. I am not prepared to call him gutless just because he is walking away, until I know what daft lad as been up to.

 

While I’ve not been impressed by Hopkin, this would be really bad. The rot has to stop and to stop now. We are a ridiculous club thanks to one of the owners. Someone has to clear this crap up.

 

Agreed. I'd be disappointed to see him walk as I didn't have him down as a quitter.

 

I agree Simon. He needs to stay and sort this crap out if he is being allowed too. There is something very wrong at our club right now....

For goodness sake, if he walks it might because things he agreed would be sorted like bringing in his own team for instance and now the Ego has said no, it could be all kinds of things. I would fear for our club if he walk I really would.

 

To be honest we are guessing. Apart from a mess who knows whats going on.

 

I really don't think Hopkin can afford to quit.

I've outlined my argument before, but it's basically a matter of this being his first PROPER job at any kind of sensible level. He's got the chance based on his performance at a lower level, comparatively speaking, and while that gives him far more credence than Mickey Collins had or has, it's been an absolute disaster so far.

I can't see any EFL club taking a risk on Hopkin based on the almost unparalleled results since he took over - and, meanwhile, he's kind of lucky that we gain absolutely nothing from dismissing him.

Hopkin should have never taken the job, for sure, but it doesn't serve anyone if he goes whether he quit or be pushed.

Having said that, expect this rumour to recur every single week from now until he actually does leave OR turn our fortunes around. People know they've gotta be right sooner or later.

Pure speculation, but he referenced out-of-contract players after the Rochdale game. I wonder if he is being prevented/delayed from bringing more players in? I'd guess he has an idea who he could get in.

 

Hopkin has already lost the plot. One week he is crucifying the players and next he is saying he can’t fault them. Abbott will take over when he walks.

Would it really be that disastrous if he did? We've been asking what difference has DH actually made to our play ? None would be the fair verdict !. Nothing about this poor group has altered under Hopkin we have not progressed to being harder to beat. We still look as inept at the back. Surely isn't that the fundamental starting point ? Just be more organised ? more solid ? Ok we might still loose but "losing better" would be some sort of progress. If he did walk then Abbott would take the reigns so God help us then! ! Have you watched him during the pre-match warm ups ? Jesus it's embarrassing ! Abbotts idea of defensive drill is to throw high balls up to the players and have them nod them back at him ! ? Honest that's Under 10s level coaching. Before Hopkin goes Abbott needs to ship out for his finger prints are all over this "gathering of the inept". At least then the message would be clearly Hopkins message and give the players a new voice alongside DH. Gary Jones would be a good shout for that role. But for me it's ABBOTT OUT ! at this juncture rather than Hopkin. Infact Hopkin wants to tell Rahic he wants Abbott to go so he can do things his way. Abbotts a meddler and he's largely responsible for his poor group of players anyway !
