Every year for as far back as I can remember Lawn talking about deficits they always said we needed cup runs/transfer income to cover about £700k of the wages bill. That doesn’t seem to have changed over the time.
I haven’t seen any say we are £750k overdrawn but that we are running at a deficit of around that amount. They are different things. A deficit is a yearly thing, so depends on income this season. So playoff/Wembley money and transfer fees from last year do not come into that. They will have gone into last seasons numbers. That money could be in the bank covering this seasons deficit or more likely will have covered last seasons with a bit left to cover this seasons.

Where have I said I want previous owners back? Deadwood staff who are rinsing the club? club within a club, are these unsubstantiated rumors or fact? The previous board did not ruin the pitch! They were unable to repair it, as all the money went into the playing staff. However, it is a valid criticism, but you make your priorities and you live with them.

Bollocks unable to repair it and all the money went in to the playing staff. Do your sums from 2013 onwards, how the hell do we have defecits

And so you pick and chose which rumours are true and which are unsubstantiated?

The rumours edin is a Twit is fine, but when he says there were people making money from city then they are completely false.

The thing is we have an expensive and deteriorating stadium and a pitch falling apart. The whole infrastructure needs updating so we can move forward sustainably.
This season we will have 12k season ticket holders which at the price they pay is the equivalent of 6k.
The club has either to heavily subsidised just to stand still

So a deficit is different to an overdraft. Ok, so a deficit is the difference between what is coming in and what is going out? So this running at approximately £700k a year? which I presume the bank charge us for? We then have monies elsewhere servicing that debt? Surely it would be better to pay the deficit off if we can, why pay for money if you don’t have to?

Going slightly off topic, but how does that work at a club like Portsmouth who are crowd funded I believe, yet they have Michael Eisner as chairman he is a very rich man does he not inject finance into the club.

Listen I am struggling to work out the difference between an overdraft and a deficit, if you can help me I would be more than grateful. That is what we told.

Don’t have a go at me about rumours, I have been told I shouldn’t take any notice of any rumours. I have no idea what to believe anymore. It wasn’t Edin who said it by the way it was Rupp.

So What difference will that make if they got promoted to the Championship, my point to @Storck@Storck and @Lard Arse@Lard Arse is as fans they won't he in a position to finance a promotion so I'll ask again whats the point of having a multi millionaire if funds have to be found by their fans.

It sounds like the rumour about them pulling the sponsorship is rubbish then?

An overdraft is actually borrowing to meet needs. Deficit is the difference between income and expenditure

Cheers, so they are now back to square one hoping the new owner doesn't leave them high and dry as several of the past owners have done in the past.

You can run a deficit and not borrow money if you have it in the bank. You just use your ‘savings’. I don’t think anyone has said we have borrowed money from the bank, unless I’ve missed it in the papers etc.

It would still be a deficit even if we are using funds in the bank to pay it.

To put it simply. Income this season - all costs this season. If that gives a negative number then it is a deficit. How you find the deficit is a totally separate discussion.

Ah right penny dropped. I run a deficit over the Christmas period, sort it out with savings I put aside for that event every year.
