I listened to an interview with Lawn on the eve of the sale where he said he had been reluctant to sell and was sad at the prospect. He was the public voice of the club hardly surprising he was the one commenting

I feel so naive on this front. In my ignorance I just thought they had coughed up the asking price, and took they keys and that was it. Clearly this is wrong. So let me get this straight, so not only are they paying in instalments, they may well have borrowed money as well?

Well guys and girls let’s get the brass together via loans and crowd funding and we too can buy City.

Sorry I am really pissed off So all that guff about wanting to get our club promoted was just that as clearly their respective bank balances come first and foremost. I did understand that they wanted to make money in the long run, but this is something else.

 

I'm no expert but generally in business you borrow as much as you can. The more capital you have the more you can borrow. Never use your own capital unless to acquire more capital. I would be surprised if the two owners had paid for the club upfront in cash. Never tie your money up.

Whilst I agree, he was never the most professional with his comments. I felt he often made us look like we were run by a bunch of cowboys, not someone I'm particularly desperate to see back at the club, unless he came with some serious money men but I'm not sure many would want to associate themselves with him tbh.

 

So neither have access to the clubs accounts.

 

It is highly unlikely they have been able to borrow the money without putting the full amount as collateral, eg their personal homes, shares etc. Lawn and Rhodes couldn’t find anyone to lend the club £1m never mind borrowing £6m.

If you get pissed off by someone who doesn’t know the truth saying something on an Internet forum you must live your life in a totally pissed off state.

 

That is true. If you can raise £6m then you too could be the owner of Bradford City, that is how business works.

Now the tricky part is finding people that will lend against a business that runs at a Loss most years unless there is an unexpected income eg transfer fees or cup runs. That is unless you want to put your homes up as collateral to cover the loan, remember this would only be possible if you don’t already have a mortgage on your home.

The other part of your suggestion was crowd funding. Again the club struggled to get £250k, fair enough they were not offering much in return, but if you are offering shares in the club then you may get a higher take up but probably not much as again it would mean finding supporters with spare funds

 

I have no idea whether it is the truth, but it explains to me why we are virtually skint. The holy than thou attitude you adopt to anybody who replies to rumours is not going down well!

 

Well it was said tongue in cheek, but I am sure you have smug satisfied smile of your face. Carry on leave the rest of us to worry about the club, and our demise.

 

Crowdfunding was used in buying Ebbsfleet Utd via myfootballclub.com. If you look at the history of that it wasn't at all succesfull.
I believe it declined rapidly as the membership we're constantly (yearly) being asked to administer further funds into the club to keep it going.
The initial euphoria of being a member (shareholder) soon wore off , when you had to divvy additional funds in

 

Bit like Bradford PA. they became a community club a couple of years ago and are now going back in to private ownership so they can continue.

 

Sorry for trying to bring a bit of a reality check onto rumours that no one knows have any truth to them whatsoever.

We have been virtually skint since the last administration. Can not you remember Lawn constantly banging on about the deficit, or was I imagine that?

As for if it is going down well or not I’m sure I’ll survive thanks. I can not say the constant moaning and looking downwards is going down well either. It went down so badly the old forum closed.

 

You keep your self happy with your constant moaning and negativity. I’m sure your life must be a happy place as all you do is moan and complain.

 

Do you know that to he fact, the reason I'm asking is that during the Palidini saga it was said that Julian was the one wanting to cash in and Mark wasn't, then talk was Giani would buy Julian's shares as he and his dad were the major share holders and if they did it would leave Mark as the minority share holder ?.
