Easy peasy when they will be receiving £34mill in parachute payment this season! And several million more which is due this season from the sale of Pickford.

Got to say that Barnsley looked a far better team however the rubber legged Sunderland players knew how to fall over when needed.

Bad sportsmanship to Twit the ball out for a dead ball from the drop ball in second half. Classless act.

Deffo handball for their first goal. Was going a yard wide until their player deflected it in.

Deffo pen and red card for their lad who petulantly kicked out Beckhamesque.

Can't see them getting auto's though.

Re their support. Was good in spells like ours was.

Scannell was having an average game before needlessly giving away a free kick and then couldn't see what happened exactly but we can't afford to lose a fit player from the squad. I hope he is fined a months wages.

Posted a link on one of the other pages. He could have shot with his right or maybe outside foot on right but chose to control, tried to shoot with left by which time defender tackled him.

Re first Sunderland goal I am pretty sure Hopkin said ref apologised either at ht or after game for allowing it.

One point to make here, many enjoyed the effort today and feel good that City didn't get hammered but
"We are no threat. We aren't winning games."
Until sunderland went down to 10 men City were playing just Miller upfront with Ball dropping back and playing wide.
Probably to accommodate Payne in the middle.
But how much of a threat will we be with just one striker up top and relying on Ball and Scannell to make the runs.

Until some of the injured midfielders return(friggin' reeves where are you!) we may have to put up with this thin gruel for a while yet.

Happy with the performance today, just a shame about the result and I'm annoyed with Scannell for getting himself sent off and banned for the next 3 games. Hopefully that sets the minimum standard for performance and commitment for the rest of the season and if it does, we'll be fine but we can't afford to let standards drop.

Did scannell boot the ball at their lad whilst he was on the floor?

Looked to me, there was also a foul on o'connor when he went for the header in midfield but was seemingly pushed mid flight and ended up missing it

In my opinion we played very well today with the limitations Hopkin has with the ever growing absentee list we have ( it’s a miracle we can compete at all with all the players out) we deserved a point and once again we were let down by a refereeing decision. It’s not good the ref appologisng after match about getting it wrong the damage is done. O e thing for sure if we keep up the same level of commitment and performance as reason matches we will soon be climbing the table

Haven't seen it back yet but my first instinct was that the rebound chance was a better chance to score than the penalty.

I don't know about playing 'very well today' as you described it but we played better today than we have all season. But that is a very low bar indeed. Plenty of effort and commitment? Yes, but again that's against a very low bar. And I'm not convinced that our level of performance warrants such confidence to say 'we will soon be climbing the able'.

Today's level of performance/effort/commitment admittedly against one of the leagues's better team still produced only 31% possession of the ball over the entire 90+mins and let's recall that they were reduced to 10 men for about a third of the game. Without more possession of the ball than today's level, we won't get the goals to produce the wins to lift us very far up the table.

Today's effort and performance was encouraging but that's only given what we've had to put up with recently. But more is still required and I don't know how that will happen even when some of the injured players become available for selection.

Exactly, soon we'll be 15 games, that number generally tells you what sort of season you have in front of you. After 15 games I expect us to be bottom 4.............it's a relegation fight.

It wasn’t only commitment and effort today. We played some decent stuff as well.i doubt there is a team in any league could carry the amount of injuries and absences we have without struggling

We had more than 31% of possession. BBC stats are way out.

I wish I shared your confidence.
Although we look more organised with Hopkin at the helm, we don't seem to be gaining many points.
January a real test, to see if the owner's back the manager for his own players.
    Especially the loans.
Whoever (Abbott I assume) brought Seedorf in, shouldn't have any input again
