Afternoon all.

Feet up and having an afternoon with my record collection.

Purchased the winner of the 2026 Wainwright Prize for nature writing @Botswana Bantam. Ancient by Luke Barley. I had the dog with me, so it wasn't the most relaxing visit!

 

Washer is goosed. Been trying to fix it today, spare I need no longer appears available.

Have a friend who worked for a well known appliance maker for a while. His whole job was making some parts deliberately different to standard so that the only choice people had was to buy an official spare rather than a knock-off.

Enjoyed watching that for a bit.
Just been sitting in the garden, reading a couple of chapters.

 

Just spent an hour or so ironing clobber for my first foreign jaunt for 11 years. Going to be a quiet affair (), about 18 of us (mainly ex army) celebrating the 60th birthday of 2 of them in Corfu.
Lot's of culture (yeah right)
My liver has been pre warned.
Is there a Countdown protocol for holidays?
