We already get around £1.5m per season in league 1 from the Sky deal which is far more than the previous deal. The game also hasn't been moved from when it would have been and we have no extra costs so why would we get a facility fee? There's also not a lot of money in the EFL Cup as the majority of the games have very little value to sponsors or broadcasters which is why the games are included as a whole EFL rights package.

 

Beat Peterborough and we could be in the quarter finals of one of the main cups in this country and probably earned less money than one home league game
The financial rewards without a big draw is pathetic
Losing isn’t even worth thinking about, we have to get through and hope we get that pay day, that clubs like ours is essential for progress

They do tamper with the draw for premier league teams in the early stages

 

If they increase prize money or give everyone a TV facility fee then that money just comes out of the central funding every club gets. They only do with the draw what they do in the 3rd round as UEFA have made the schedule impossible for a Champions League side to play a Europa League side and doing it any other way would be a very complicated draw.

Fans have to take some of the responsibly for lack of money in the ties, if fans turn up then ticket revenue would cover costs.

Not surprised that Luke Williams has been sacked after losing to Doncaster today.

Even after winning in midweek he gave a very strange interview where he seemed to be having a dig at either the fans or the board saying he wasn't playing how he wanted.

As ridiculous as it sounds I wouldn't be shocked if they went back to Darren Ferguson

I dont think its essential for progress. In 24/25 we did naf all in the cup comps and progressed pretty well in the league. Last season we got a £400k pay out from Newcastle game, wasted it all on shite January signings and still finished 4th.

Doing pretty well this season without any cup money too...you are overstating it. Its a nice bonus but isnt essential.

I will have to disagree with you and I am sure the club would as well, accumulating as much income as they can is very essential to progress, especially under the new SCMP
