Match Thread Reading away Saturday 3rd October

Tough. The great rules dictate that two important first teamers don't matter. You need 3 bit part players to get a game called off. Maybe St Kitts have someone we could loan and bring on at 74 minutes.

 

Remember teams should just suck it up and play their reserves if they have players called up

Unless they fancy their chances knowing we will be without our keeper and LWB? Are Reading's "internationals" regular first team players?

 

Not sure but I've not seen any confirmation from Reading regarding this fixture taking place on a Saturday.
I won't be making the trip midweek so from a financial point of view it's a non starter.

Its time to cancel all league football during international breaks, and extend the season by 2 or 3 weeks. This is the only fair solution I can see.

 

It was tougher to take after a bottle bounced off my head and soaked me in pop about 5 seconds after the winner went in!

 

As mentioned on the Barnsley thread, I’ve bought flight tickets to attend this game, plus popping in to see my dad in Henley for a few days. Silly me that I didn’t check it was international weekend. Ofc I don’t want it postponed, but at the same time I don’t really want to see us play without a full strength side. I think Reading and ourselves need one more call up for it to be called off. Will be watching situations closely. I can’t cancel the flights, so will be coming over anyway and may still go to Reading as I’ve researched several pre and post match pubs! And cheers to @NorthernMonkey for the offer of helping me out with tickets!

 

Think I’ll hold out until we get clarity on whether it’s on or off. Would be a great Saturday game but wouldn’t go if it was midweek.

I was in Reading for a week a few years ago with work and it’s actually a really nice town with some good pubs.

 

We should sign a youngster on loan who plays for Wales U18s lol

For anyone who's not been before, there's also a few beer and food vans outside the ground in a fan zone area that was showing live football and had a live band on.

You'll need decent weather mind as its all outside.

 

Surely only a matter of time before we have a Macron version of that kit. Sparks seem to like to revisit old kit designs.

 

Scotland have 4 keepers in a 28 man squad - what chance anybody is released?
They play home on 29th, away on 3rd and home on 6th. If they know he’s 4th choice, maybe we can ask to have him released for 3rd?
