Theoretically, is GA going anywhere?

Ha Ha David. You suggesting i'm on the Mouton Cadet on a Sunday night is definitely a good call. But if the worst happened, and we lost GA, i wouldn't say no to Heginbottom et al. ( perhaps i should drink less ).

 

You forgot the closer to home/less of a commute factor/more time for family factors that seem to be the deciding factors these days.

They need someone to stabilise the club and he fits the bill ..............gutted if he went and judging what the shite some of our support come out with I wouldn't blame him.

Turns a basketcase league 2 side going knowhere with a toxic fanbase into a solid no thrills League 1 side with a largely happy fanbase and he's deemed not good enough some on here talk as if we should be getting better when the reality is that this club have only looked like getting out of this league once in how many years ????????

BTW us in the normal world saw the Cambridge game as a one off a game that we could have won and out of that so called terrible performance we have gained 6 points no goals conceded and into the last 16 of a major competition ...............not to shabby is it

 

Another factor is he may jump while going is good here because we all know how fickle our fanbase is ................pre Plymouth and Cambridge he was an amazing manager post them games he was shocking ................. I guess now after 2 league wins 2 clean sheets and into the last 16 of the league Cup he will be back to being amazing again

 

GA strikes me as a loyal type of guy. He played for a grand total of 4 clubs in his career. He’s not left a manager’s job of his own accord. Whilst he played for Preston, he left them for Burnley of all teams and he’s actually a Coventry City fan.
I think he’s emotionally invested in our club and can’t see him leaving voluntarily.

Thought I don’t think Preston will come calling, unless they have been turned down by a few already

 

I am 99% sure he won’t walk out on us, but it is that nagging 1% that is making my nerves jangle. I presume we are paying him above the normal? I don’t know what we pay managers these days.

 

The new contract he signed helps our case and I a sure I read we have a 7 figure price tag on his head

 

You are a funny one Andy, you come across as one of the most negative posters on here. I typed the word negative into the search bar with your name and found this beauty from league 2. Maybe you enjoyed it more when we were crap and others were negative? I'm not specifically talking about this post in general but your posts overall recently.

 

It will come down to money and as for a tough gig ours wasn't a walk in the park was it .......... he goes there and gets them steady he will have the fanbase onside straight away .............then again what do the fanbase boss in reality ?????

Any manager could play the greatest style in the world but if it didn't get us out of league two then he'd be gone regardless.

As much as the fans want it to be an entertainment business it's ultimately a results based business and if a manager is getting those then the entertainment side can be generally ignored.

 

No chance of Alexander going to Preston in my opinion. I think they will be looking for someone who knows that league well and has some sort of track record managing in the champ, our manager doesn't so would be a massive risk in a league thats a big step up from ours.

 

Sorry but they need a manager who will stabilise that club a manager who has the siege mentality a manager who will have the fanbase straight on his side ..............Preston may be looking at simply staying up and he probably fits the bill ........... hope I'm wrong but what he's done here in turning a basketcase club around ain't gonna go unnoticed

 

Any new manager will galvanise the fanbase. A Rob Edwards or similar type would be more likely to get the job (assuming they can afford him) and excite the fans, a track record in League One and Two won't really cut it.
