Theoretically, is GA going anywhere?

Cooper looks like he could suit well. It will be someone like that or a random European over GA I'd guess.

I think if it was April and they were already down, then a GA approach might happen. But not at this stage, still loads of time to save themselves and they'll go for someone with Champ experience or an equivalent level rather than dropping to L1.

 

The rumours will all come from on here. Preston won't want him with his style of play, but if it causes a few of you some sleepless nights then go ahead. He isn't going anywhere, if this sacking had come after Cambridge people would have driven him there with how they were talking. Nothing more fickle than a football fan.

A caretaker would be sensible until he takeover is complete.

 

Bigger managers have left for other clubs...... GA is ambitious loves the club and loves a challenge.... they seem to haver more money than. us too...

 

Preston are awful and now the window is closed it’s impossible for the incoming manager to affect anything until January. They’ll be planning for L1 next season so that said, GA might have some appeal.

 

Absolute nonsense. They are 7 games into the season - any plans now are to bring someone in who keeps them in the division.

 

A fair few of their fans think Carlos Corberan could be the new manager, he was sacked by Valencia this weekend.

I'm sure that will be something on GA's mind as well. An absolute legend for Preston as a player, he won't want that tarnished by potential failure as a manager. I also don't think the pull of more money is necessarily a driving motivation for him either and if he truly believes he has the players to have a right good go at promotion with us again this season, I honestly believe that will be more of a draw for him than the challenge of keeping Preston in the championship.

The difference being Alexanders present club is restricted with an owner who accepts his financial involvement is limited, where as the Preston NE owner is a billionaire, although the father has died the family are still investing in the club until the take over is completed, they have invested £10 million this season alone money we can only dream of getting from an owner.

 

Fans, in their position, i.e. Blackburn as well, always are aren't they.

Despite the club having a budget that means ending up 10th should get the manager the gong for the season, fans will think they should be getting the equivalent of Pep.

GA won't go, because he is easily the most underestimated manager out of the 92. Some moaned on here, without ever looking at his record properly and also seeing how highly fans of previous clubs he managed (and even MK Dons ones now) rated him. However, he won't be seen as 'sexy' enough - so the board will higher someone the fans want, i.e. Gerrard, regardless of whether they can do the job.

Expect Preston to get relegated anyway - they were favourites for most and you'd be hard pressed to find three clubs they could end up above.

Unless GA has lost his brains and so his memory about how bad he was treated by all his former clubs (all of them still rate him - even MK Dons now as does Gary Neville) then you might be correct.
