    Have Stockport Wigan and Plymouth spend more than us. I think the new rules show why players like Morsy are not finding it easy to get what they want

    The owner can fund the budget an infinite amount as long as the money is gifted/invested to the club i.e. not loaned, the only clause is that only 50% can be spent on wages the rest must stay in the club and be used for infrastructure, academy etc.
    One bit they have missed on this is the other key change is its live monitoring rather than the old system of twice a season for the previous period. If you fail it then it's an automatic embargo.These bits are the reason Oxford can't bring any new players in. Their budget is over the threshold so their owner was told by the EFL he had to put the funding required by 1st July, he refused to do so meaning an automatic embargo.

    For all the good they have done on the recruitment side the last 2 years they still do some very questionable things.

    We neglected the CF roles in January by signing shite and like you say, more neglection here.

    You say shite signings ,but when they were signed apart from white ,they were on paper good signings .they just didn’t work out apart from maybe Ashby ,

    It’s a flawed system which means success can and always will be bought. We have 0 chance of competing as the more ambitious clubs of which they are many is league will just get round it by piling more in. I am 36 I don’t think il see city in the championship in my life time. If it happens it will be fleeting visit.

    Stuff changes. Rules alter. Ownership alter.

    Look at clubs like Blackburn, Hull, and even Burnley. If they can succeed, no reasons we can’t.
