Baldwin pens new contract

Interesting that we've done this now, I can't remember the last time we renewed a contract of a senior player before the end of a season. It does suggest that there might have been some interest in him so to protect us at the end of the season we've renewed the contract now. If that is the way we're going I wouldn't be surprised if we renew Tyreik Wright's contract soon as well as he's out of contract in the summer after we triggered his option in May.

 

if we were going to do that we would have done it rather the trigger the extension clause

 

We did it with Pointon at the start of August last year.

 

We triggered Baldwin's extension too

 

The club and GA have gone on record to say new contracts will only be discussed in the summer - so here we are. When they are signed and when they are announced, we dont know.

Guarantees they are both here for this season, so we can plan accordingly, and we can take our time with offering them a new deal if we are intending to.

As others have already said, hope we are looking to extend Tyriek Wright's contract now.

 

Wait until Baldwin is named new captain, that will tip poor @NorthernMonkey well over the edge!

I'm in Portugal for my 50th birthday tomorrow so not even this news can get me negative.

I'm just hoping Baldwin doesn't hit any long diagonals tomorrow or one night take me out while I'm sunbathing.
