But, are we using Sarce in CM to deal with a problem or because that is his best role because one thing I hope most fans will agree on is that Sarce is probably our most natural finisher. So taking him away from the front of the pitch where he has a great sense of anticipation and a good finish is arguably making us weaker.

Maybe Beesley and Philips and Jackson with a good pre-season will change my mind but it feels like not playing Sarce at the top of the pitch is making us weaker to solve a problem elsewhere.

Watched the first 10 mins of the PFA game, can 100% see why we'd want Morsy to replace Power. He's dropping back a lot and joining the back line almost, similar to how Power dropped to get the ball. Only 10 mins of a friendly, but when he gets it he's got it away within a few touches, not dwelled on it at all yet in his own half.

Watson had a lively run in the first few mins but not seen much else from him.

 

Morsy would be a very good replacement for Power. It sounds like he has been pricing himself out of moves this summer though

 

Ironic how the position we made 7 figures from this summer is the one area that still requires serious investment as its been neglected

 

Very similar play patterns so far from what i can see, if they have the ball at the back he's deep, getting on the ball he gets forward. Might just be because it's a friendly against a youth side but he gets about quicker than i thought he would for a player of his experience.

The longer he is a free agent, those demands will drop.

 

GA said in his last interview that we were short of goals from centre midfield last season. He sees Sarce as a more attacking option in that slot than Power or Metcalfe were. He even said ‘if he can make those runs centrally rather than in wide areas it’s almost like a second striker’. Listen from 4.50.
He also sounded very pleased with Nick Powell’s fitness and attributes and said they’ll be talking to him to discuss his future ‘by the weekend’.
