Elsewhere in League 1

I'm going Cambridge, Stevenage, Burton and one of Bromley or Wimbledon, those lot feel like the drop zone for me.

I think we'll be somewhere between 9th and 14th. Might have a slight flirt with the play offs but won't have the consistency to hang on. I'm still really worried about our pace, for the second half of the season, the better sides played higher up and pushed our wing backs deeper and deeper and we didnt have the pace to make up for it.

Leicester and Luton my top 2. Mk, Huddersfield, Mansfield, Sheff are my POs. If Plymouth can spend to replace Tolaj well they might be up there. Derek Adams confirmed at their fans forum that Plymouths budget this year would be 3rd in the SPL, dunno if that says more about money in L1 or lack of in Scotland.

 

This was last years SPL summer spends.

I think Luton will win the league this season. I reckon Wilshere has now got to grips with league 1 football and will take some beating.

 

Just ran out of time last season. Another game or two and i would have had them winning the playoffs. A lot of potentially decent clubs this season, i expect Leicester and Wednesday to gain momentum as the season goes and the likes of Luton and the dog botherers won't be as poor as last season.

 

Wilshere seems to be building a very good squad, looks a good young manager in the making.

 

Mansfield set to sign Derby midfielder Liam Thompson. Looks a good signing that.

I think Mansfield will be this season's surprise package challenging for the play offs.

Leicester signing Liam Cullen from Swansea. They'll be up top two come the end of the season (yes it's starting the bloody obvious lol)

 

How are they affording all these signings? I thought I had read elsewhere that they are in dire financial straits.

 

I presume they have shifted a lot of the very high earners on now, such as Harry Winks, who according to a Leicester fan I was talking to earlier this summer, was on £80k a week!
