Many posters thought the same with regards Tilt, and although he was not the fastest he had other assets to his game and rarely let us down.

 

I think Tilt will struggle a bit this season at Burton with Yousef Salech still in his pocket.

 

Agree Man Utd would have had someone watching him, and as you say he was not what we'd hoped a player to contribute with a few goals, they would realised our ambition of getting to the Championship was our number one priority not developing one of their payers.

A lot of pressure to get that central midfield working. I'll hold back on fully judging until we get into the season but Connolly gives me uneasy vibes like Humphrys and that we might be making the same comments that we did regarding Humphrys best position.

I think Connolly is a solid signing, if he plays in the back line. League one/championship experience over several seasons is exactly the profile of person we should be aiming for.

I feel because Tyriek has switched reasonably well to a wing back folk then say "oh but Wright switched positions" and that's true but not every footballer has the ability to do that. Some don't look comfortable or effective when they're not played in their natural position.

 

Doesn’t matter how well he does certain people have made up their mind he is out of position despite what Alexander Sharpe and Connolly himself say and the first mistake and the knives will be out

I reckon we are linked just because the lad is from round here. Cant see us needing another striker unless one is on the way out? This lad went on loan to Shrewsbury in L2 last season, made 13 apps 6 starts and scored in 1 match where he bagged a brace.

If he plays well, I'll say so - as I have with Swan and Powell already this season. I don't see many others saying Swan should be playing even though he has five pre-season goals. You certainly havent.

It's pivotal position so essential Alexander gets it right. If Connolly fits to the role no one will complain, if we look to be struggling in that area of the park GA will have his judgement questioned like anyone would. Power did a very good job there last season, Connolly will be expected to be just as effective.

 

Why would Evans want to do that though and risk interest from another club who might be prepared to actually pay a fee for him?

 

They wouldn't be able to until Jan anyways, fairly certain with loans these days players are set with their loan club until the next window opens. Reckon it's more of Evans giving Leigh a confidence boost that anything. But if he has a good 4/5 months until Jan, we'd be daft to not try test the market.
