Did anyone else notice how badly cut up the pitch was after today’s game?

To be honest, I thought it looked pretty rough even before kick-off, and by full-time it was in a terrible state. In fact, it looks worse now than it did at the end of last season.

I know it’s only recently been relaid, and the recent hot weather certainly won’t have helped, but I can’t help wondering what it’s going to be like by December. At this rate, it could end up being a complete mud bath.

I do wonder whether the club might have been better off postponing today’s game and giving the pitch a bit more time to establish itself before the season starts.
