I think, like a few places, they are given names to see how reliable they are. Some are people we're speaking with and some aren't. They aren't as well connected as they were two seasons ago when they were running properly.

Yes unfortunately even if you “mute” accounts you still them in search results. Unfortunately a full on block of the account is the only way sometimes.

Tonight's game against Preston should be an indicator if any of the players on trial may of be offered a deal. Those not involved you would think have been told to move on.

The transfer window doesn't close until 23:00 on the 1st September, so we've a bit more time yet.

The problem with Humps is that he's not a left winger either.

Just a bone idle bazza that joins in the game whenever he can be arsed and even then it's just to dribble at defenders until he either loses it or gets a shot away.

Saw some Wigan fans mention his name as a possible striker option this window.... I'd say i'd happily drive him there but i've heard the commute is mental.

Bit worried that the tag on Phillips they have is he is a bit bone idle and wont press or do the defensive work either.

Surely, during talks with the player, GA would have explained our tactics and got him to sign up to the press?.. because if not and he's behind the play, will he be on the ball?. Although, having said that, Fowler expressed that Phillips has great shot and puts in wicked crosses and gets a fair few assists and goals.

I think Phillips' game from what you can watch online is purely on the ball and he just doesn't sound like he covers anyone going the other way. Barnsley he worked best when in a midfield 3, where he is the attacker and there's 2 lads sat behind him doing all the leg work that he wont do. He needs the ball to feet and inside of 20/25 yards from goal it looks like he can create out of nothing. I dunno how thats going to work here if he's playing on the right attacking mid role as he'll need to cover ground? Suppose we will see how the season unfolds. But from their reports on him, you sacrifice his lack of press for his talent on the ball.

When it comes to pressing I’m sure his 15 g/a a season will more than make up for it, we’ve been missing someone with a bit of a spark to make something happen last season.

I agree. Talented but lazy. Talent without work is a very big disappointment. Didn’t make Austria! I told the other half he don’t be going he will have some obscure injury.

One new name on here which could be an option to look at is Daniel Johnson, he's been out in Turkey for 2 years, the first year seemed to go well then the 2nd year not so well. He can play 8 or 10 and he did sometimes play a bit deeper for Preston, if he is up to the right standard to be at least a good back up then I think he'd be a good signing brining a lot of experience to the team as versatility off the bench.

I’m sure I read somewhere that humprhys had one
Of the highest pressing ratings in the league at some point last year. Think he gets the lazy tag because he got pissed off with him
Been a target man and launching ball
At him. He wants the ball to feet or in behind, sometimes players just arnt the right fit always thought that about mark yeates he didn’t have anyone on his wave length when he played for us and looked useless at times

Everyone with a pair of eyes gave him the lazy tag. That substitute appearance in the second leg against Bolton was a disgrace.

I know I give Baldwin some tongue in cheek stick but I'd take 11 Baldwins over selecting Humphrys again as I know I'd at least get the effort levels and commitment.

What I don’t understand is why GA puts up with it?
