    Well clearly the manager does but its not like a professional manager has ever got anything wrong and been sacked as a result......next time you moan about a signing, formation or tactic we will revist this comment.

    Ibbitson wont be in our team this season, he's just got far too much competition for one shirt. If we played 2 up top, maybe you keep him about for cup games and the odd 5/10 off the bench. But he's probably what 6th choice at the min for that striker role? (Beesley, Swan, Humps, Powell, Jackson ahead of him).

    Not a chance he sticks about. Think GA did some good mouth service stuff in the paper a month or so ago to keep his spirits up and dangle that carrot, but realistically it was just that. He'll be on loan at a Scarborough type by September and if he does well you bring him back in Jan.

    Surely we hear something today regarding the 5 trialists (Powell included). Parker's article on Saturday said GA was making decisions about their futures over the weekend as he didn't think it would be fair to drag it out any longer.

    Although he looked more threatening than Beesley at Halifax. Looked tall and strong with a reasonable turn of pace. Hopefully he gets a chance at some stage, because as shown with the Jenson Metcalfe transfer, we need decent young players to help balance the books.

    I think the delay is probably down to 1 or 2 possibly signing. They need to do the fanfare behind it and announce.

    Think Powell is nailed on tbh, and if the rumours are true, Welch also.

    That's a name out of the blue.. international and just left Norwich, probably out of our wage bracket.
    Having said that, I'd love him in the centre of a back 3.

    Would be a top signing and obvious captain material.

    Would the fact he has been known to support Martin McGuinness in the past cast a shadow?

    Norwich fans hate him, 35 in January was last on 30k a week, no pace.

    Id rather we didnt, and thought we'd moved on from these ageing mercenaries

    If he is in our wage bracket and dropping down a division then the no pace shouldn't really be an issue considering he will take the shirt of someone with no pace anyway.

    Plus he never had pace in the PL when he was in his pomp.

    Irrespective of the Norwich fans view, his reported slow pace and his age, the main factor I would be reluctant is the fact that he played a mere 4 league games last season.
    In those games he picked up 2 Yellow cards. Missing with an injury until November 2025, and then absent from the end of that month (reason not clear) apart from being on the subs bench once in early December!
