    Watched a bit of TdF action.

    Dani Rowe provided more insight in one sentence than Sean Kelly managed in ten minutes.

    For fans of the tour this was Kelly's revelation on time trialling, "well you know, it's all about getting from A to B as fast as you can".

    Makes you think.

    Saw a huge bird of prey on the way back from Morpeth. Couldn't see it close enough, but had a very large wingspan.

    I did manage to get a photo of an old signal box for the disused railway line that ran locally.

    It might well have been. Unfortunately, by the time we could pull in, it had moved away from the road and was just soaring around a field. A lovely couple of minutes though.

    Haven't gone down a road where you have to open and close gates for years.

    If was soaring quite high it have been a buzzard, they are very varyin size and can be quite large.

    As I said Golden Eagle in the region they are big!

    Red Kite tend to fly a bit lower than the other big birds of prey.

    We get them flying down our street just above house hight.

    No sign of any curlews this year which is worrying. Googled to discover they are now on the Red List.
