    superb what a privilege :thumbup: you don’t see them up here really, last time I definitely saw one was in malham last year flying up the beck while we were watching trout off a bridge. I thought i saw one down in the borders on a Tweed tributary too. Just a flash past and gone.

    Red Kite for me.

    I was once working between Harrogate and Harewood and spent most of the day sitting in my van watching them just soaring overhead.

    For UK. A nice group of house sparrows tweeting together is always nice

    Similarly a group of swifts in the evening swooping and talking to each other. We get lots of swifts round here in summer

    Harewood had a very successful breeding programme for Red Kites hence lots of them in the area.

    I used to drive 300miles round trip to North Wales before the reintroduction scheme for Red Kite at Harewood (I worked in Yeadon) they just mesmerised me.

    I have been to Gigrin Farm feeding station in Wales there were 109 kites in the air at once!

    I will never forget it.

    I don't think I've got a favourite bird.

    I'll add it to the list of stuff to sort out in my life.

    There's a friendly blackbird that flits and hops around me when I'm gardening. That one will have to do for the interim.

    Was going to say the Red Kites myself, we stopped there a few years ago when on holiday at Aberystwyth. Amazing.

    When I worked in India, I used to lie by the rooftop pool in the morning watching the kites soaring before going into the office.
