I think this is probably the thin end of the wedge for most clubs thats followed the dream which has now turned into a nightmare.

Correct on Cartwright and I made that point on some previous posts - people assume as he is young that he's Metcalfe's replacement - he isn't. He's a defensive midfielder and is replacing Power's position in the team. Falkirk tried to play him a bit further forwards and he did ok but ultimately fell out of the team as they preferred a different midfield two.

This is why the Cartwright/Connelly pairing doesn't work for me on paper - it's two defensive midfielders - unless we're changing formation.

Tend to disagree on the trialists. The Port Vale centre half looked like the sort of player we have moved on from (Byrne/Kelly) but all the rest did more than ok. Bad positioning can be coached out of the player and lets face it some of these players hardly know each other. The only goal conceded was due to Walker going walkabout and missing the ball.

Could Sarc be converted to centre midfield, thats where he seemed to be playing.

They'll continue to stay afloat .. so long as their owners, in Leicester's case an incredibly rich Thai family, is willing to fund them. That's a huge unknown though and must be a major risk for Leicester. The family has already swapped almost £300 mill of loans for equity in the club in the past 3 years, effectively writing off the debt and no longer receiving the interest on the loans. The more immediate issue however is that the loans from Maquarries are secured against the club's future revenues from all kinds of sources - TV broadcasting, player sales, gate receipts, asset sales etc. The big chunk - just short of £50mill - is secured against Sky PL broadcasting rights for the coming season .. and they are now in Lge 1 of course and will only receive a tiny proportion of the PL value! I can't imagine how that huge shortfall will be squared without the owners stepping in again and providing yet more equity butvthis time under the new and much tighter EFL's SCMP rules. At some stage they may well rail against it.

I suspect this latest saga of poor financial management of EFL clubs has some way to go and it wouldn't surprise me if the IFR were to get involved in this..

Why doesn't the door fit in the door frame? Or is it a weird angle??

Also, looks like someone calling for a quote to paint the ceilings.

Great signing for Franchise FC. I wish he was signing for us.

They will have offered him quite a package in signing on fee and salary to tempt him there.

There was some utter nonsense going around late last season about Leicesters numbers which were squashed at the time. Their average wage in the PL relegation season was £65k per week, and they've had their wages cut by twice since, PL wages were confirmed to have a 50% cut (according to their fans and local rag) and last seasons lot had a cut too, but no numbers on that cut.

So let's say they had a PL player on that £65k pw mark and he's still there now, he's had two big wage cuts, so he'd now be at best somewhere in the £16k-£20k pw. Still mental money, still nowhere near manageable in L1, but even their average PL earner from 2 years ago wont be on the mental numbers that are going about online.

Just an awful stadium for atmosphere. Like playing in an empty aircraft hanger the way the cheers and claps echo around.
