Prediction League Potential Changes 2026/2027

Should the Prediction League include the opposition score?

  1. Yes I will predict if both teams scores are included

  2. No I will drop out if both teams scores (& scorers) are included

Results are only viewable after voting.

    As part of getting ready for the Bradford City Prediction League I've been tracking transfers for all of League 1 (As I'm considering having people prediction scorers for both teams and not just city to add more diversity to predictions) and thought I would put together a public one for you all to keep an eye on the ins and outs of League 1 teams

    It wasn't that hard as I was tracking the transfers to help keep the squad lists for all the teams upto date while I decide if to I'm going to stick with just predicting City scorers or both teams for more prediction variations. It just needed a quick public interface created

    Not sure I’ll bother doing it if we have to predict opposition scorers as well as our own. That would make it a lot more complicated and time consuming, having to research the opposition players before making a prediction, instead of a quick two minute job in the pub before the game.

    Just for context I was in top 4 in World Cup predictions taking a punt the more I researched the worse I got

    You both haven't been playing the World Cup edition but the new system makes it fairly simple. You select your score, it creates the number of dropdown for the number of goals populated with the names of the players for each team with player split by position. Certainly by the time we are a month in you are likely to know the 4 or 5 players most likely to score for each team in the league are as well as also knowing the weaknesses of City so its not like you are going to be crunching numbers to statistically who is most likely to score. You are likely to just look at the starting lineup and pick one of the ones that has been scoring regularry

    In addition we have stats for the most common picks as well so you can even use that to help narrow down your possible solutions

    With the new system it's harder for those who don't wait for the lineups really rather than those who wait until they are announced. If you do it before then and don't intend to update when the lineups are announced you are maybe going to have to look up a predicted lineup (Although if I can find some good sources of stats I might provide these like I have the World Cup matches). When you have the lineup its a case of deciding do you go with one of the 4-5 most likely scorers (using city's weakness as a factor on which one) or just go left field and hope one of the less obvious ones gets a goal and gets you points most others don't get

    I just wanted to keep it simple. Basically an In or Out. I guess you would be a Yes. Your post makes it clear, that you would prefer the status quo, as would be my choice. However I think it would become overly complicated trying to wait for the opposition team to be announced.
    ‘If it isn't’ broke, no need to tinker with it’.

    It's like betting on football sometimes you win, most times you don't but it's the enjoyment of sometimes winning that keeps you interested. So, whatever format it is, I'll join in the fun.

    I always hope City won't concede so usually just do a 1-0, not interested in the opposition.
