The goal away against Oldham and him causing the massive brawl then running away against Bury are my biggest memories of Edinho.

 

I remember that game well! Lee Sinnott was back with us about 8-9 years after he was first with us. Edhino's goal in front of the kop was wonderful, as was Nigel Pepper's. One of the more memorable games of the time, great stuff!

 

I think I banged mi ed on the Kop roof when that winner went in .

 

Was that the one where he trapped the ball, sent the defender the wrong way and then whacked it in from the edge of the box? Ole Bjorn Sundgot got the winner with a header I think.

 

In my head he stabbed home a cross from about 6 yards then ran off kicking his heels?

Can't say I'm absolutely certain though, it feels a lifetime ago!

 

Any standout performers from todays game?

 

Henry Cartwright for me.
Good with both feet.
Good through balls.
Played at RCB but you could see he's got talent.

 

At the end of the game I asked the Man City fans if they needed directions for Notts County (top of bottom division) they didn’t respond well !!!!

Poor form starting Ibbitson at RWB. Pre season is his chance to shine and stake a claim and played in an unnatural position. Appreciate we had a some players out (Parker reported only Baldwin) so had to do a job but surely Jackson was the better option.

 

Hopefully we get a backup rwb in soon so he gets a chance up top

 

Deffo. Ideally someone capable of playing either side to cover both. Touray better as a LCB IMO.

Heard Oscar Lunn had a decent game. Very positive but surely goes out on loan for some experience.

 

I can see the lad returning from Newcastle tbh.

 

Whilst I do like him, he's a jack of all trades , master of none type of player for me. Not outstanding but he would be a more than capable squad player for us.
His wages though would be a stumbling block I suggest. I wouldn't want us to stump up a major % of his alleged Toon wagesfrom our budget.
As though like last year , I don't see GA wanting loan players for the first part of the season. He likes his own players on board in the 1st tramsfer window

 

The definition of a utility player... GA's type of player.

 

It's funny how we see things differently. I didn't see him as a jack of all trades at all. I thought he was an out and out RWB or possibly right midfield

 

You are probably right but unless he’s going to get fixed up on lesser prem wages he’s got to smell the coffee?
