Summer 26 Transfer Rumours

We need to find better than Touray and Neufville. Both ideal as backups but both fell of a cliff last season. Touray is allergic to passing forward

 

Nonsense, Touray was one of the most consistent players last season at both CH and LWB.

 

We often forget it's a step up from L2 to L1. I think Neufville will do well this season having had a year of experience in L1.

 

He did and I think fell off a cliff is harsh and OTT for his form. True once teams stopped giving us so much space and the switch became less effective he wasn’t quite the same. That said the amount of balls played at his head, or players swarming him made it difficult for anyone. Bolton at our place was a big eye opener for me, their defence were able to go long with great accuracy, I don’t mean just reaching the player but also at a height that makes it easy for the player to take it in their stride. Something we rarely did. It’s alright quoting Baldwins long ball percentages, but how often were they received at waist height or below for players to have a ball that’s easy to control. This is why statistics don’t tell you everything.

 

I’d rather just play a youth team player if that’s the case.

 

It's easy for teams to negate a dangerous wide player if there is little threat on the other side. Being dangerous on the left will mean Neufville has more opportunities.

 

This myth gets more ridiculous every time someone mentions it. According to people that actually attended the forum and Parker's blog from the evening, Gent said nothing of the sort.

 

Could be, I just think it’s pretty pointless for us unless we are actually considering signing him.

Touray can fill in at LWB but I wouldn't want to see him play there regularly. His attacking output dropped off massively and it made our attacks one sided. He’s better suited to LCB

I can see us signing another LCB/LWB, RB/RWB, a CM And another attacker. One of Swan/Humphries/Ibbitson/Lapslie will leave so we’l need another option there

 

Just reading up about the centre half he was in the league two team of the week twice but he fell awkwardly sustaining a concussion which kept him out missing their relegation. Not touting for him though if we were bringing a centre half in we would probably want better. But no harm in looking
