Of course , the club would be idiotic to say otherwise.

Yeah i think we need a similar amount. I wonder if Sarcevic is going to be asked to go back into midfield this season? He's been a midfielder for his career pretty much until he signed here and we've moved him further forward. And we bring in 2 or 3 others, Lapslie as cover there.

With us spending money on Phillips who is on a longer deal and Jackson recently coming in and will be on very very good money, it feels like we've invested in those attacking mid slots and with Sarce age and he wont be getting a new deal in a years time, we might want him playing deeper and let use Jackson and Phillips more as the attackers on the right? Save his legs a bit too maybe? Really interested in Phillips, by all accounts he couldn't play deeper in a midfield 2 to save his life, but GA as said moved Sarce further forward, moved Leigh further back, Lapslie was a deeper midfielder too before coming here mainly and he has played all over the shop. GA has seen midfielders differently from their past roles.

Peterborough at home. We absolutely murdered them. Still only scored twice, mind. 7 or 8 wouldn’t have flattered us.

I don't know how much credence we can give to your Ashby rumour but I wouldn't say no to that one. I think he has potential at this level.

It's interesting he says he is willing to wait. That hasn't been the way in the last two seasons. It seemed like he wanted everyone in ASAP. But perhaps he's just saying that to remove some of the perception/noise that we do want players in early. I rarely believe anything said at this time of year!!

Wouldn't say his legs have gone, more he needs saving a little from himself. How many little muscle injuries has he had in his 2 years here? Feels like a fair few. He missed half the season in L2, played 68% of minutes last season.

It's a weird one with Sarce for me as when he is fit he is probably our best goal threat and one of the best we have. But he picks up issues, as players at the ends of their careers do, and we've invested in those areas now too so it feels like he might be phased out a little?

The new financial rules will make it harder for clubs probably the reason town sent May out on loan. But we have strengthened the striking area and attacking midfield plus goalkeeping. We were strong in sitting midfield last season and we need to match that this year. I think we can get away with a couple of loans in defence

I'd love Osei-Tutu but the only way I could see that happening would be if Neufville was off.

They sent him out on loan yet still cough up £1,000’s a week on his wages,( Donny paying less than half) until 2028 and still have to pay off the remainder of his transfer fee slightly less than £1m . How does that really help ? Maybe helps them pay Sunderland for the loanee keepers wages?

I love this writing off a player because of one bad season. He wasn’t awful at Bolton was he? Sometimes it just doesn’t work out for players at a certain club.

Maybe it was intentional to give the impression we’ve nearly spent up and try and keep fees down, but he’s never going to say we’ve got money like you say, is he.

He did very well at Bolton and scored quite a few goals if I remember. Most strikers are confidence players and failing at one club can easily be turned round at another. I give you Andy Cook as an example. Taylor another when loaned to Wigan.

He will also be playing under the same manager that got the best out of him at Bolton. I think he'll do okay for them.

He did that well Bolton fans wanted rid , however Taylor you mentioned is a great example , aka, we had two of our own ….who when loaned out scored really well elsewhere .
