I think it’s clear the transfer market is harder for us this year because we are looking after better sought out players who can wait for better offers.
It’s important they don’t lower standards or panic buy. The transfer boys have done a good job overall and we can have confidence in them

 

Are lots of clubs signing players though? Seems relatively quiet all round.

Having spoken to the person who gave me the info on Sunday that I posted, they can't understand why city haven't announced the two signings by today. They are adamant both are completed and a 3rd deal is close and said player will be at the club at the weekend to finalise everything as he has been away on holiday.

I know they're involved in sports media although directly not involved with our club but they know their stuff usually.

Personally though I don't know what to think now whether city are keeping things under wraps for some reason and spinning it out like what happened with Phillips or the info I have been given is not correct on this occasion. The fact they're adamant though that the deals are done and others on here have heard similar I am edging my bets it's the former rather than the latter with the reason unknown.

Either way though I have been done like a kipper as it stands

Just doesn’t make sense to sit on deals for what impact? Surely it’s their interest as it drives social media interest and engagement which can be clearly monetised. I don’t think any further deals are signed think @Park bantam is correct we are probably competing for better players than previous years which means we are going to have to have a degree of trust and paitence. Given January I struggle with that but 2 so far is a good start.

I agree with you but Phillips was supposedly done 6/7 days before it was finally announced and listening to what he said in his interview it was all practically done well before that .

 

Perhaps there's a delay in the delivery of the away shirts they wore for the photo shoot. They could be planning to launch the shirts in the shop on the back of the signing but they haven't arrived yet. Straws and clutching, I know, but ....
