Just seen the Gillesphey rumour.
You have these on good authority???

 

Gillesphey plays same position as Elder so can you see it??

 

FotMob has Elder as primarily a left wingback whilst Gillesphey is a centre back.

 

Elder has only been rumoured in fact all of these names are rumours at the moment. What about Dempsey I thought that was nailed on

 

Gillesphy is currently under contract with Charlton for another year, with the option for another year. So that would be another fee that would need paying

 

Although he's from Northumberland area, he played 30 odd games in the championship last year and not like all his family is from yorkshire. Would he really leave a team where he's playing pretty regularly and settled in the championship? Sounds odd.

Interesting about the Gillesphey/Elder rumour, both of them and Philips are all good set piece takers. Taking away from their positional play, it makes you wonder if GA is wanting better from set pieces in the coming season.

 

We are definitely targeting the right calibre of players all the rumours of they come off are smart moves

 

Depends if they're happy to move him on I suppose. He only started 22 times last year and is from the north so perhaps he's looking for a decent contract back up north to settle now he's 30 and Charlton are happy to free up the wages and look elsewhere.

 

He wasn't first choice though Bots. He didn't start in the team, had a decent run in the middle (perhaps an injury to his competition?) and was then back out of the team for the final 3rd.

 

Sounds like Wednesday's interest in Bailey has cooled and they're pursuing other options.
