    Why not? Touray came in as a LB but did a fine job at LCB when required. If he can play multiple positions then so be it.

    Tilt was a competent LCB so not sure what you mean by 'this time'?

    I'm hearing we're interest in George Abbott at Spurs very much in the Metcalfe mould. Spurs are willing to sell now to stay within PSR what ever that means.
    He says within football circles people are impressed with how we managed Jenson Metcalfe so hopefully an attractive proposition for the young Spurs lad

    I have heard similar but a loan deal as he only recently signed a new long term deal at spurs

    He's been on loan at both Notts County and Wycombe so probably ready for something permanant.
    I would imagine there will be strong competition for him as Ive heard a lot of good things about him.

    He is out of contract June 2027 with a 1 year option I believe.

    He has some real quality, great Metcalfe replacement. Just a shame about the injuries last season.....year before he played 50 games.

    Abbott was excellent at Notts County a couple of seasons ago. However, last season had injuries woes whilst at Wycombe and Mansfield.

    If now fit, would be a good signing

    Sanderson did at Fulham, they usually do it to then sell. He'll never make it at Spurs.

    I remember the away game at Notts County very well, that 5 minute spell when they took us apart and scored 3.

    I don’t think that figure is unreasonable given as Idlebantam says he's over his injuries, I'm sure if we could do a deal it would be similar to the Metcalfe deal where as Spurs would get a good slice of any sell on fee.

    With the financial success of the Metcalfe move the club may be looking down that route again rather than the loan route. It's no guarantee there is a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow but does ease the burden of the owner forking out of his pocket if the club wants to bid for a player. If it was a loan I'd be looking at different avenues than Abbott.

    I seem to remember an Everton fanpage reporting we paid £1.75m for Metcalfe. Obviously it was an error but does £175k with a 30% sell on sound about right?

    Similar for Abbott and Im all in.
