Phillips coming in is a great bit of business from everyone at the club. I wish Metcalfe well in the future but I feel like it will be a big loss. Hopefully we use the money to replace him with someone like Wintle and not a league two player like Green!

 

Not really too bothered about Metcalfe leaving. He was decent for most of the season, but not someone we can't easily replace with a solid L1 midfielder

 

I agree but dafter things have happened.The potential is there and there ain't that many players that do that anchor role these days.

Yep looks extremely legit, AI can't really handle text and replicating phone cameras and textures like this, so I do strongly suspect it's real.

 

Wasn't it quoted Everton allowed him to join permanently rather a loan but got 30% sell on fee or have I dreamt the latter.

 

You'd hope so but as many have said Everton will have a large % of any transfer fee I'm not sure how that works with add on.

 

I'm not suggesting it's gospel but he's been pretty accurate in the past, plus it is a rumour thread .

I hope we have put a sell on free with metcalfe which then will then cover what we need to give to Everton

If the rumours of signing Dempsey, Elder, Kent, Morsey/Wintle and Phillips are true the fee received for Metcalfe will be higher than a lot of people think.

That calibre of player in addition to Beesley who we paid a transfer fee for won’t be cheap.

I just think in cases like this, a couple of Hundred thousand is nothing to Everton, but two players for city.

With all the money circling in the PL these days, little stuff like this wind me up.

I get that we get the benefit when it works the other way but that's generally because the big boys coming knocking knowing a smaller club will accept bids for kids as they are skint and it's a proper benefit for someone like a L2 team to benefit further down the line.

You could argue that Everton had their chances with metcalfe but either didn't want him or didn't get him to the level he needed to be hence the drop down a level or two
