    Phillips is more attacking, and his best position is in the 10. Means competition for Pointon/Sarc/Jackson which is good, but doesn’t necessarily address the lack of midfield options. An I do think Metcalfe will be off, I just hope we haven’t sold him for peanuts

    I think we will use Jackson in the Sarcevic role more this season now we have Beesley

    I'm not so sure Metcalfe will be off. Had he continued his early season form I think it would be more likely, but I think his recent form might dissuade higher teams from shelling out on him just now. I would be delighted if he is here next season by the way, because he can only get better.

    28, 12 months left....doubt £400k. If we got Beesley for £250k then Phillips would be around the same.

    Phillips more than capable of playing the CM box to box role. Pretty much did the very same in 24/25 season.

    We get the same tweet every season, not sure why people looked into it as anything else than showing the pitches progression.

    Anyway, very good signing today, far better than that Green at Grimsby. I was hoping we were aiming higher than that and thankfully we are.

    If this deal completes, that’s 2 good signings to start the summer recruitment
    If you add Jackson to it? The last three signings have been a step up from our usual pool of recruitment and bodes well for the future
    Goalkeeper, right wing back, defensive midfielder and centre half of Similar stature and we will be looking half decent to push on again

    Well it needs to be good money
    I believe Everton have a sizeable sell on clause
    The lad was decent enough, but I personally don’t think he is ready to step up to the championship

    as much as i like Metcalfe and the potential he has if we get a good fee we can invest in more than one position that's progress
