Summer 26 Transfer Rumours

I'm intrigued to see if last season's speed of recruitment was unusual or will be the norm going forwards?
If it's slower this season I hope that is down to the quality of player we're targeting but also hope that those players choose to sign and don't leave us on the back foot!

Either way, GA will want as complete a squad as possible to travel to Austria.

 

To be fair, he was inexperienced at senior level, took on a near impossible task,put up with unbearable interference then like Michael Collins, was thrown under a bus. His new post is equally daunting. To step up to running a team with such huge expectations is a massive ask. We will know by Christmas if he has the wherewithall.

Green would be a useful squad filler but he isnt the replacement for Power surely? We need better. Phillips and him now that would be good.

 

And it’s a rolling contract ( usually 6-12months ) which means he can be sacked cheaply ?

 

Does anyone actually think there is anything in that Phillips rumour? Barnsley fans laughed when it was mentioned on X

Absolutely,you’d go weeks on end picking up the T&A hoping for news of a signing in the summer and other than the league cup draw and the fixtures sod all about transfer speculation. Headlines would be “Yorkshire take early wickets at Headingley “. We’d often go all summer without a single signing or maybe just one.

Different types of player to be honest. Green is a proper box to box kind (or was in the Grimsby games i saw). Nothing flashy, just got up and down, stuck into a challenge and wanted a pop at goal.

Green had 76 efforts on goal last season in L2, which is more than everyone in our team last season bar Humphrys who had 90 shots. Humps had 7 goals from 90 shots, 29 on target, Green scored 13 from 76 shots and 29 on target. Amazing output for a midfielder.

 

Good grief Humps a benchmark? lol !

 

It seems unlikely but then folk would have said we couldn't afford Humphrys.

I lived in London in the late 80's. I used to ring the club premium line for transfer news !

 

Ryan Wintle apparently is back on our radar, they say he was on £12k a week at Cardiff and thats what cooled our original approach, could there be a change of mind by player or his agent, he won't get that in League One.
