Not heard anything re Elder somehow - is this Callum Elder at Derby?

Hardly a stats man but FotMob says he’s done better than Power in most areas over less games and in a higher league. Hopefully he’s not injury prone as looks a decent player

 

@Bradford End teased us yesterday with Callum Elder. If true and signs, that would be a very good signing in my opinion.

Plenty of minutes in the Championship last season and played for Australia as recently as November last year

 

Olly Sanderson has signed at the Lamex.

Be interesting to see how he goes

 

When are city due back for pre season. I fully expect half a dozen signings beforehand

How soon was the squad assembled last season. I think it was quite early and mostly complete before the first friendly.
That paid dividends as we got off to a flying start.

 

I think it was the same the summer before as well. I'm sure GA has said a few times he's likes them in early so hopefully there's more going on behind the scenes than we're aware of yet.

Lets not forget a lot of them points where gained against teams that where willing to go toe to toe with us ?????
Maybe once the secret was out that we can go to toe to toe with anyone teams where simply prepared to stick men behind the ball leaving our attackers with little to feed off .............bet the whole way over teams set up regarding Neufville for starters changed and rather than leaving one man to deal with him.it changed to two from October onwards.

Just cannot buy into this idea that he would change this winning formula to one that would see us struggle why would he ???
If he knew that we would remain injury free and the players could cope with it then it would have gone off but we all know what was the likely outcome with some of our star players being also injury prone

 

Some teams changed from playing out from the back for us. We need to keep to the principles but be a bit more flexible with tactics

 

i think we simply caught a few teams out at the start and i bet had it been later on in the season the likes of Hudders,Luton and Wycome naming a few would have played it differently

 

I think the key to be punching above our weight is team spirit and togetherness. However I would like to see a bit of an individualist added. If we had a player like Cozier -Duberry in our team we would be in the championship now

 

Even after our flying start which was actually 23 points from the first 10 games we still went on to average 1.5 points per game for the rest of the season, a target the likes of Huddersfield and Wycombe couldn’t match all season. Last two seasons Alexander needed to make changes for the 24/25 promotion and then last summer he changed most of the players for league 1, in fact I believe the team that started against Wycombe only Walker, Pointon and Sarcevic survived from the promotion team. This season I don’t think it will be as drastic a rebuild and will take his time getting the right players in.
