The Everton lads will have interest for sure.

Francis Okoronkwo will have a L1 club take a punt on him. He's a 21 year old striker, had a few loan spells at Donny and Lincoln this past season. Was a bit part player at Lincoln, went to Donny and got injured straight away. Had a decent record in youth football, he also scored against us for Salford last season. Everton paid £1m for him in 2021.

Reece Welch probably will too. We were linked to him in 2024 when we were assembling the L2 promotion squad, they loaned him to somewhere in Europe instead. Sheff Weds were in talks to bring him in on loan in Jan but went for other options instead to pad their squad out. Wouldn't be surprised to see Weds go again for him.

Kingsford Boakye has the likes of Manchester United, Atletico Madrid, Brighton, and RB Leipzig all been credited with interest in the last month or so in him. Tyler Onyango has played right wing back, right back and centre back and was on loan at Stockport in both of the last two seasons, however both times he picked up season ending injuries in the winter in each seasons.

 

Would take a chance on Ilian Meslier, and even at 39 John Ruddy for a season, as competition for Sam Walker.

Looking at the rest, a lot of the Newcastle, Leeds and Sunderland lads either haven't gone out on loan or went out to National League North or Scottish L1/L2 level so would be a jump or unknown. Newcastle keeper Adam Harrison might have a club look at him as a young back up, 21 years old and was loaned out to Ayr in the Scottish Champ for the back half of the season, played 10 games conceded 17 with 1 clean sheet, first spell in mens football. Might be more a L2 move.

Loads on that list have either a few games on loan at a local club or nothing but U18/U21 football under their belt, so nothing much for a fan to find out on them. Everton lads by far the best of the bunch. The last 4 Everton names are all under 18, none really stand out numbers wise but Kean Wren had 6 goals and 4 assists in 21 games from the left attacking mid slot in a similar tactic we use. Not a bad return but at 18 it's a complete unknown. If we had a U21s then you'd maybe look at a few guys of that profile.

 

Ashley Fletcher is signing for Huddersfield from the sounds of things. Cant imagine he was anyone we were ever going to look at, sounded like he was on a big whack at Blackpool.

 

Never heard of any of them, apart from Matt Targett, who is way off our radar and budget, so difficult to comment

Not massively, it's called being completely bored on a 6 hour 'Data analytics with generative AI" training course on Teams all day where i can just have one bloke on one screen talk about how important AI is and i can do whatever the hell i want on my other one and pretend to be interested!

And playing football manager still in the lower leagues and bringing in every PL released U21 every summer on that. Tbf, i remember Okoronkwo because Donny fans were beside themselves at the time thinking they were getting some gem on loan and must have tagged the city hashtag on twitter a fair few times for the clip of him scoring against us for Salford. Welch had a really decent pedigree i remember at the time but it looks like he's barely played for 2 seasons.

 

He did absolutely nothing against us , yet scored in extra time at their place last season .

 

That brings back bad memories of boring online courses when I worked in the finance sector. Oh and Incredibly pointless woke DEI courses

I’ll simplify

AI - a tool to make people more lazy and eventually make everyone unemployed.
Teams - a tool which allows anti-social awkward people never to go into work and never see people
Data Analytics - just another big brother tool bosses use to predict future events based on previous events. In other words, bullshit!!
