I heard the same about Power but I thought Beesley was between 150-200K?

I saw a couple of Burton fans saying similar but they also said it will rise because there are add ons.

 

Read it on twitter when signing was announced a few were reporting it to be around that. False news spreads easily on twitter though lol.

 

I'd take a striker like Beesley for 300k anyday of the week anyway

 

I feel like we are robbing wigan by getting 200k for a 32 year old in the final year of his contract. Good player though and will probably become their captain.

Oh it was clear... if I'd read it properly.

 

If we've really spent circa £300,000, then Beesley better be quality.

That's a lot of money and his goalscoring record is fairly average. His other attributes will have to make up for the shortfall in a significant way (ie, increasing the goal output of Sarc/Bobby even further), or he'll have to set a personal best for a season's worth of EFL goals.

£300,000 to me sounds like 17-20 goals plus other goal involvements, certainly not 13 totaling 20 goal involvements.

That said, I trust the club more and transfer Summer transfer activity has generally been good since Sharp joined Gent and GA. I think we might help him elevate his game to the next level, and I think he'll be a grafter. He seems like a Bradford City-type player in the way that someone like Stephen Humphrys simply isn't. But again, let's not underplay the risk factor. If he scores 8-10 with 4-5 assists, he'll have been a very poor piece of business.

 

£300k is nothing really for a proven striker at this level.

Im more minded to give him benefit of the doubt post January tbh Jon. He was doing really well , then we made an alleged bid of £400,000 , he wanted to move to us, a team looking for CC football, his club didn’t . I can see why he may have got the hump and his form likely tailed off? Who knows what was going through his mind ?
