Given his 'exclusive' this week was we were signing Smith, it leaves his hit rate hovering consistently around the 0% mark over the past 10 years

 

Surely that just increases the risks of it being leaked though?

Well my thoughts are .....14-20 goals in him...assists too Jackson if fit will get 8 to 13 hopefully. We know what Sarc and Bobby can do. Sarc may be on the way down so need a replacement maybe.... We need a really good midfielder and yes you're right ....another striker... I think up front it looks good.

 

Just watch the games, you'd be able to judge for yourself.

Baldwin brings lots of positives but over the years he's been with us he's made some pretty poor errors generally through wanting to play a bit too much.

That said, he's also had fantastic moments with last ditch tackles or blocks and clearly can hit an accurate long pass.

Can we do better? Absolutely. Is that area a priority? I think it is but I'm happy to accept people's opinion that the concern might be higher up the pitch.

 

Whenever 100% fit, Sarce is the first name on the teamsheet for me. Build a team around the rest of the positions.

 

He's nowhere near good enough to sulk over. If we can get a decent fee in I'd drive him there myself.

Perhaps this even frees up Metcalfe to step into his shoes and we've unearthed another "Stuart" type that can develop with us whilst setting standards and driving the team forward.

In regard to Power. He’s 33. Very influential and has been a decent captain. Credit to him. Always match fit, just loves picking up yellow cards

don't think theres any need to hold any grudges on this one. He served us well this year, and wants to move on for understandable reasons. Contract expires in a year, he is regressing and we are getting a fee for him. We’re happy with the money, he’s happy in moving closer to home and to a club he has links to. Id say its a win-win. Wish him the best

With the Beesley signing, Do you think we have any chance with Fletcher from Blackpool? Fletcher and Beesley would be a great statement for next season up front. I still think we need some pace up top.

Yes, his 2 year contract ended at the end of the 2025-26 season
